Do you feel bad throwing away literature?
by stuckinarut2 inso do you feel bad throwing away your old literature?.
what about your old song book or bible from your early days in the org?.
if so, is it because of sentimentality, monetary cost or because it might be 'sacred' ?.

When I made the decision to leave and never come back, I threw EVERYTHING away. I don't feel bad at all. -

Something they said got me thinking.
If God never changes and he used to speak to people directly/indirectly then why doesn't he do it anymore? I guarantee that if any of us here actually heard God speak to us we would be 100% convinced that he was real and would want to do his will which would in turn cause us to be "saved" which is what God wants for us... So why doesn't he do it?
It just makes absolutely no sense to me anymore. There are so many holes.

People think I'm dead...
by Garrett inhey guys and gals,.
sorry to keep harassing you with these posts.... so today, i decided i was ready to look at a text from a sister who "liked" me.
she knew about my depression and apparently she says everyone is worried about me and she wants me to respond because she's worried that i'm not "here" anymore.

Hey guys and gals,
Sorry to keep harassing you with these posts...
So today, I decided I was ready to look at a text from a sister who "liked" me. She knew about my depression and apparently she says everyone is worried about me and she wants me to respond because she's worried that I'm not "here" anymore. Basically, she's worried I killed myself.
I feel bad for putting her through that, but I feel that for my sake I shouldn't respond with anything. Perhaps I'll respond with "I'm alive" and then go back to ignoring everything lol
Thoughts? Again, apologies for all these posts asking for advice regarding random things.
Peace,
Garrett

A coming out story to my mother.
by JennyBoo inso i actually came out to my mother a few days ago.
told her how i really felt about being a jw (jehovah's witness) and how i wasn't straight.
i wasn't surprised by the disapproving response i got because really, i wasn't expecting any more.

Congrats, girl! I wish you and your partner the best of luck in life. There will be times like these where the going gets tough, but stick together and you can make it through anything :)
Don't worry to much about your mom and worry more about yourself and your life.

People calling me... >.<
by Garrett inoh my god!.
it is currently almost midnight where i live and i have now been spammed 3 times in a row by an unknown number.
first my home phone and then my cell phone.

@rebel8 Wow best idea EVER! Haha I should actually make that my voicemail xD
To everyone saying it could be anyone - They called my home on a blocked number, then when that didn't work they called my cell phone (back to back) So I doubt someone dialed both my home phone and cell number "by accident".
I'll have to google "77" and see what the equivalent is for the country I live in.
@Toesup Thanks :) I think it's just the indoctrination kicking up. I'm sure it will fade with time, but right now I feel I'm still in a delicate state of mind when it comes to the congregation members.

What is dating as a JW like
by UFCFan infirst off i want to say that i'm a teenager which makes my situation interesting.
i don't want to give too many details in case someone i know reads this but i'm between 14 and 18, homeschooled, and i've been awake for around one or one and a half years.
i already have a plan to attend usc or wisconsin university if i'm smart enough to get in and then move to san jose and try and get a job working for a hs football team or with a soccer team, since i want to coach sports or be an agent.. now, this all sounds great in theory but there's one thing i've been thinking about that makes me doubt my plan.

Man, I second what billy says here "I don't want to come across as belittling your feelings, and I have known plenty of couples that have been together since preteenage. But in my experience, although I had plenty of heartbreak with "sisters", I'm now very glad that I dodged every one of those bullets!*
I've had a few girls that I liked like me back, and now in my current position I'm happy not to be stuck in that mess...
Bro, I suggest that you follow your dreams, make something of yourself and worry about the women later. As the saying goes, "there are plenty of fish in the sea".
I know hormones are strong and all, but you didn't mention whether or not this sister felt the same way for you as you do for her. This plays a huge role in everything as well. Have you told her how you feel about her? When will you? What if she doesn't like you back?
Peace and best of luck with whatever decision you make,
Garrett

OH MY GOD!
I've just about had enough. It is currently almost midnight where I live and I have now been spammed 3 times in a row by an unknown number. First my home phone and then my cell phone.
I am 100% sure it is someone from the congregation because no one else has my number, only a handful of people do. I'm starting to get anxiety and panic attacks every time the phone rings now.
Who calls someone at MIDNIGHT??!! What nerve...

Wow... that hit me hard. Hearing people say that the publications said this stuff and then READING it from the publication itself... That's crazy. I can't believe it...
Have you found anything else interesting in there?
