Guys, I tried. (Follow up to my last post)
unfortunately, before I could write anything she had sent a second message letting me know that the org isn't perfect, but that jehovah sees everything and that she's sad that I want to leave jehovah.
well, I let it rip, boys and gals. I let it rip. I can't take stupidity from people I thought were capable of using their brain. How dare she say the org isn't perfect and that jehovah sees? How would he allow innocent children to be raped and then have his org tell people not to tell authorities and not to take action? ITS THE MOST MORONIC THING IVE EVER HEARD!!! I'm so pissed off right now.
unfortunately my emotions got the better of me and I couldn't follow your advice. The reason this is such a touchy subject for me is that because for half my life, I was severely abused mentally and physically by my father. To the point where I had to sleep in the woods at night because he threatened to kill me in my sleep. So child abuse of any kind infuriates me, and people that see it, have the power to stop it and take no action deserve to die. They deserve to be tortured and die.
im sorry for the rant guys, I really am. I'll see you guys later. have a wonderful Easter.

Need your thoughts... Again
by Garrett in(sorry for any typos, i'm on my ipad) so, remember how in my last post i mentioned that i had told some of my dear friends why i decided to leave?
well, one of those friends was a girl... not just any girl, but rather, a girl that i've loved since the moment i've met her.
she used to say that she considered me her best friend and we were really close she just never really returned my feelings for her due to different circumstances i presume.. but i always felt a connection.. anyways, after telling her that i decided to leave because of multiple reasons but that the tolerance of child sex abuse was the final straw, she responded asking where i got my information and that she wanted to talk about it with me.. this feels like an opportunity for me to tell her about my findings, what do you think?

hello everyone!
(Sorry for any typos, I'm on my iPad) so, remember how in my last post I mentioned that I had told some of my dear friends why I decided to leave? Well, one of those friends was a girl... Not just any girl, but rather, a girl that I've loved since the moment I've met her. She used to say that she considered me her best friend and we were really close she just never really returned my feelings for her due to different circumstances I presume.. But I always felt a connection.
Anyways, after telling her that I decided to leave because of multiple reasons but that the tolerance of child sex abuse was the final straw, she responded asking where I got my information and that she wanted to talk about it with me.
this feels like an opportunity for me to tell her about my findings, what do you think? Remember, she's an open minded individual :)
What would you do in my situations?

hey guys,
I just wanted to thank you all for all of your input, support and help over the past few months. I've decided to officially disassociate myself from the organization and move on with my life. I feel that in order for me to be able to fully move on, I need to close this chapter and to do that, I need to disassociate myself.
Ive sent my letter and I have informed some of my dear friends back in the States of my decision and why I had to do it. I was always around open minded individuals , so I hope that they will at least consider what I had to say.
My life is slowly starting to work itself out. I'm on my way to starting my own company, I haven't had depression since I left, I feel much more confident and I feel so free and liberated that at times I'm not too sure what to do with it.
so, once again, thank you all for everything :)
peace,
garrett

Hey guys,
So, as you may know, I'm 21 and an older brother to an 12 year old boy. Our father was a severe drug addict that tried to kill my family. When I turned 18 I left home and returned to my home country. A year later, my brother and mother joined me after my father tried to murder them. Need less to say, he is no longer in our lives. We now live together and have been doing so for about a year.
currently I'm unemployed and can't provide for the family, but the government is helping a lot and my mom has a part time job. This helps us get by quite comfortably.
my current issue is my little brother. Over the last year I find myself being less of an older brother and more of a father. I don't know if it's good or bad but I'd like your input on it. Tactfully, please :)
my next issue is that my younger brother is constantly saying that he's sick. Anytime we ask home to do anything that could be considered a chore, he becomes sick. He didn't go to school for two days because my mother thought he was sick even though he had no fever and no signs of being ill. Currently we are having fights because I feel he's playing sick so as to get out of doing anything he doesn't want to do. I was wondering if any of you could give me any insight. He's been like this for a few weeks now.
i don't know what to do guys, I want the best for him and love him and I didn't ask for this, but I feel this is my role right now... I feel like I need to stay here and raise my brother as well as look after my mom...

Hey guys,
This is going to be a topic of a different nature. So, while I am not looking to date at the current moment since I'm still trying to figure out who I am and what I want life, I do want to start dating in the near future.
My issue is that I've been in for almost all my life and it's left a big hole when it comes to my romantic life.
I was wondering, after leaving, did any of you date? If so, where did you go to meet people? Did you ever mention your experience as a JW? How did it feel to be able to date freely? What about online dating?
At times I feel I'll never find the right person -.-
Anyways,
Thanks for your time,
Garrett
