There is no problem with political debate. Debate does not mean name calling and denigrating someone else because of their beliefs. It means presenting your opinion and backing it up with facts. As long as mutual respect is shown by each "side", and those of us in the middle, it shouldn't be a problem. I tend to get along with people on both "sides" and agree with some on some issues and others on other issues. I don't dislike someone just because I don't agree with them on an issue. That would be to throw away all that I like about that person and only take issue with one part of them. I've never met a single person who agreed with me on everything.
I miss Focus. He (assuming Focus was a he) was supposed to tell me which class wasn't a real class and stopped posting before telling me. I still want to know.
One last thing I want to say: People seem to be overly sensitive. There is no such thing as the 'right to not be offended'. If someone explicitly tears YOU down that is one thing. Seeing others tear down your ideas is not something to be offended at. I have done such a 180 in the last ten years. And then I went 90 degrees back in the opposite direction. My views are ever evolving. I have many people to thank for that. Watching and participating in debate on politics and religion is the main reason for that.
