They have NEVER had enough money to do all the things they would like to do.
Are you sure about this?

clearly, there is every earmark of financial worries within the watchtower society.. even governing body members have expressed concern about falling contribution levels.
within congregations.
yet, for the faithful, the answer is simple: wait on jehovah.. .
They have NEVER had enough money to do all the things they would like to do.

in lowell mass.
a 67 year old former janitor won the mega millions jackpot.
what would you do with all that money?
I'll tell you what I would not be doing with it. I would not give a penny to the Botchtower.

not sure when they switched from hard cover books to cheap cardboard cover.
the publications don't have the same, fancy, expensive look that the previous hard cover ones did.
i used to marvel over the nice hard cover books, and the colors of them.
Truth is fluid and changes often, rendering old truth obsolete. It's part of the design.
Well said Walter
i have seen many brothers in the jw's including elders & ministerial servants using that silly tower symbol .
in their: bible covers, lapels, tie pins/clips, letterheads (personal) & many many more .
are they not idols?
Catholics have their cross
Jehovah's witnesses have their tower
On the first day of high school my girlfriend wore a cross and I wore a lapel pin of the watchtower and awake.
Idolatry! I think there is a connection.

whoooeeeee!
about 10 minutes ago i had a visitor!
she was a sister that we used to pal around with, we had several dinners together and she and her husband and my husband played cards together.
Good for them and for you. I hope that they have seen the 'light'
wannaexit ( who is looking forward to saying "I am not a JW anymore")
i am a non-jw and have a jw girlfriend (strange as this situation can be).
since the end of 2002 she has essentially been confined to her house and mostly to her bed due to illness.
she has attended 2 memorials and maybe 2-3 meetings in the last 2 years but nothing further.
If she is sick and confined to her home the minimum she can count is 15 minutes.
.
i'm taking a break this weekend from the wt review.. the good news is i found a new job, a small office, and i will be back in the law enforcement field.
it will be nice to get away from the stress and overwhelming workload i face each day on my current job and away from the watchful eyes of 2 active jws.. we are going to 2 separate firework displays this weekend and spend some time with the in-laws working in the garden and playing some cards.. hope the weather cooperates here and in your area.. blondie
Glad you are taking a break. Enjoy. But please come back soon.
We all miss you

i was always a shy kid that desperately wanted to make my parents proud.
at about this same time i started to hang out with some guys that my dad didn?t particularly approve of.
i wonder how my life would have turned out had i stopped at any point between ages 14 and 19 and asked myself who exactly i was doing all this for.
Hi Michael,
Welcome here. I hope that you will find some solace among friends that understand you.
It will be a tough for a while, but you have your youth.
Many of us here have squandered the better part of our lives being enslaved to this organization that can be cruel and ruthless.
You however are young and you have many years ahead of you without the watchtower yoke.
I wish you all the best

in all the years i went door to door as a jw, i never once had a study who went all the way to baptism.
in the thirty years i've know my wife -- who has been a jw all this time -- she has never made a single convert from going door to door either.
is this true of others on this forum?
Yes, I had a couple of studies that came into the org from the door to door. But I think that very few converts have been made from the door to door. Mostly they get reeled in from relatives and friends and co workers.

hey!
ok, we all know of this uncanny word play about not saying, "you were lucky," and not saying "bless you" after someone sneezes.
but this is a bizarre one i heard.
watching pornography may cause cancer.
