i sent a pm to one of the forum assistants telling him this, and he said i should post and let everyone know how it went.. i didn't want to do this until mario posted first, because it's about his daughter, not mine.
but, i know all you wonderful people out there are waiting for some news on the memorial service, and i think mario is too grief stricken to be able to write right now.
sometimes these things hit you harder after it's all over, because now you have more time to think about it.

i remember reading somewhere online that the society have banned jw's from reading ray franz book; crisis of conscience.
i wondered what the details of this were, have they actually named the book in any of their publications?
or spoken publicly against it?
I remember in the early 80's my father told me that Ray Franz was the biggest apostate society ever encountered. Also that Ray got really jelous that his uncle was president that he tried to take over the society.
I was young and impressionable and thought that Ray must of been like Satan trying to be like God.
When I finally read his books years and years later, I could not believe how a kind and meek person could have been maligned so horribly.
I owe Ray a debt of gratitude for putting the pieces of the puzzle together for me. At the present I am rereading "in search of Christian Freedom."

i was thinking for all you guys who go the kingdom hall even though you know it's not the truth,, in order to keep from loosing all your friends and family,, why not take advantage of the wt free literature at your kh?
i mean the wt is forcing you to go to meetings with the threat of being outcasted from your family why not put a little dent in their finances but getting all the free literature you can and not contibuting anything for it.
after all the wt is offering it free of charge.
I have been doing just that for a while now. Every meeting I go up to the literature and get a 5 or 6 brochures, 4or 5 books then I walk over to the mag counter and get a stack of magazines. Then I go home and I throw them into the recycle bin.
But at the end of the month they show up on my service report of course.

i'm sure 99% of you know this already, but i'm warning whoever visits here and doesn't know.. .
if any of you still read god's word, i ask you to read eze.
33:11 & prov.
And you have just been infected with the "apostate virus" by being here. Quick call the Presiding overseer of your congregation ASAP and get them to pray over you.
By the way an "Apostate" is someone who has denied the Christ. I for one have not done that and neither have many on this board.
But since you took the time to register here, why don't you stay a while I guarantee you will learn a lot.

she has cancer and is not expected to live.
she properbly has only a short time to live.
how sad!
Sad news. It's so hard to see our parents age and get seriously sick.
It's good you are sharing this with others. It helps to talk about it.
Lots of good thoughts coming your way and your mom's way.

careers in the organization?
how often have you heard young ones encouraged to make the truth their career?
but what careers?
Careers in the org? Let's see!!!!!!!!
What about pioneering? That's the best career in the whole wide world.
Then there is international work. What better career than this. You get to learn how to build kingdom halls and imagine the asset you will be in paradise when you can help restore the earth.
Gilead ( that was the career I was striving for)
Bethel service (what a great career this is--you get to be at the forefront of god's eartly organization)
Imagine you can be a career girl or guy and you don't have to go to school. You only need to go and knock on people's doors and offer the watchtowe and awake. How easy is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i know a lot of lurkers are probably looking for good excuses and would like a list they could refur to..
1. allergy to the wall paper (I know someone who stays away from meeting because of this)
2. sensitive to mould and perfume
3. getting a call from overseas and didin't feel it would be mannerly to cut them off.
4. play the health card. (Depression, fiber myalgia, migraines, flu, etc.)
I find that if you play it right and don't miss all of them no one will miss you.
Also it helps to be in a big congregation and if someone says I didn't see you , you can say I didin't see you either brother where were you sitting?

i'm just guesstimating with my figures here, but if they're even close it shows what a tremendous waste of life the watchtower is.
some non jw friends tried to point this out to me many years ago.
i wish i listened then.. .
How sad that so many lives are being wasted.
Just this morning when I was taking my kids to school , I saw a couple of young pioneers standing at the corner. I got a knot in the pit of my stomach thinking just as you say. What a waste of resources, money, youth. I really felt sorry for them.
once again, brothers try to strangely compensate for reduced attendance by roping.
off sections and compressing everybody into a smaller area.
is this nuts or what?.
At the local hall they put "reserved" on the last 3 back rows. But it doesn't matter. People come in and take the papers off and sit where they want.
Funny, If you go to a concert or play people want those front seats. They will pay more to sit in the front.
At the halls the opposite occurs. The majority tries to steer away from the front. It shows how much most "love" the meetings.
