This statement has brought back some memories. I remember a public talk where the speaker was dressed up as a profet. Another time a sister was dressed up as a bride in a talk about the shulamite maiden.

But then the society put a stop to all the theatrics because they felt more emphasis needed to be put on the material and not on the scenes. Party poopers!!!!!!!!

The meetings are so boring now that they nearly make me cry. I am also going because of family and let me tell you the boredom is thick.

of all the privileges only brothers may have, doing mics seemed to be one of the most tedious.

it was definitely something you could graduate from... but why?

when i was the sound guy, it was always so hard to get brothers to do the mics.

Whenever a ministerial servant step up the ladder and becomes an elder he leaves behind lowly duties. I know that only ministerial servants take care of the accounts and the literature and mags counters.

Not much room for personal decision or choice here. If you don't do as they say your are judged as either weak or proud.

In the 30 years of association I can't really say that I fould one piece of cousel from any elder that was worthy of adoption.

Most elders are power hungry with not a thread of humility in them. Recently and older sister asked an elder why a certain activity at the hall what taking place a certain way. His response: BECAUSE I SAID SO.

Blood Brothers

i watched an interesting and inspiring story last night on a canadian show called fifth estate.

it actually takes place in britain and the story is about a british couple faced with the posiblity of their young son dying of a rare blood disorder.

they are not jw's and obviously i don't think a witness family would be able to take on this treatment for their child.

A sister emailed me and................................

........................expressed the desire to meet for coffee or lunch, seeing as though we work so close to eachother.. i must say it was quite a surprise.

this sister is older and been a dub for much longer than i ever was.

she wasn't one of my close friends either, so the email had me curious while also pleasantly surprised.. i replied and we met yesterday for lunch.. she embraced me and we hugged.
