i'm curious about some of you who post here and say that you attend jw meetings regularly.
what motivates you to post here, and does anyone in your congregation have any clue you're doing that?
If you mean active as defined by the borg, I guess I am still active. I don't think of myself as active. I left mentally, I left emotionally and soon hope to leave phisically.
I know how appalled some on this board are and wonder how those of us that are still going can do it. I can tell you it takes a lot of intestinal fortitude to listen to the drivel.
But everyone has to choose for themselves when they will exit and how they will do it.
comments you will not hear at the 09-10-06 wt study (august 1, 2006, pages 21-25)(fear god) .
review comments will be in red.
wt material from today's wt will be in black.
We must never be like those described by an experienced anointed Christian: "They think of God as a sort of celestial waiter," he said. "When they need something, they want to snap their fingers and have him come. And when they've got what they want, they would like him to go away."
Since when have they started quoting themselves?????????
i have come across some old threads that make various accusations against rayfranz, but i think on the whole he seems a kind and thoughtful person.
he didn't do everything right, and he is no saint as some make out: his expulsion is a bit flatteringly called a "crisis of conscience", but he came to terms with the disorienting situation well and did a service to all involved with the witnesses by giving us a look behind the curtain.
some of the things that people hold against him it seems:.
Ray Franz was duped like the rest of us.
I have never met him personally but I have read his correspondance with my husband. He is a very kind and considerate man.
His books are in my top best seller list. I truly understood what watchtower org was all about after i read them.
I wonder how he is doing?

i thought it was time i posted here, having been lurking for over 4 years (on and off).
well my wife is now out.
we never really discussed the issues i had with the troof, although she of course new what some of them were.
Hi Gilberto,
My first memories on JWD were the part by part account of Amazings exit. That's how I can date it back to Jan '02
You and I have something in common. I date myself with Amazing's exit account too.
The yearly text at the hall that year was Matt 11: 28, 29 .I felt so liberated. That was the year that I read Ray's books.
I am very much endeared to individuals that are patient and willing to take their family out too. I am forever indebted to my husband for waiting 10 years for me. He started to figure things out in 1992 and i in 2002. But now we are on the same page so the waiting paid off.
regards to your wife and welcome to the board and enjoy the rest of your life away from the borg.

for anyone of us familiar with this religion.....we were taught no one knows the day or the hour.
now should that be a 7000 year day, 1000 year day or 24 hour day, and any predictions concerning this or assuming knowledge of any sort would be exposing them selves as false prophets.. the wbts likely to whip up a frenzy of one sort or another due to clever rhetoric is typical, but all of us "out" know better.
it usually happens in the fall, ......just like this year.. no one here needs to hold their breath.
they have cried "wolf" one too many times. How can anyone take them seriously.

just a short introduction.
by the time i left i had the privilege of being an elder, had given public talks, memorial talks, wedding talks and convention talks up to circuit assembly level.

i could not have a big new kids on the block pin, or wear any new kids on the block pins in puplic becuase it was considered idolatry.
i also could not wear my shoes without laces (it was cool back then) because it looked wordly.
what other strange theings besides the usual holiday/birthday stuff weren't you allowed to do?
As a young girl I couldn't wear pants with zippers in the front. I wore a lot of those ugly stretchy pants and got laughed a lot. Well, the reasoning was that you wouldn't want to look like a boy.
the society's new tract should be sent to all gay and lesbian groups, warning them about a door to door message that denigrates them.. i would especially target local groups in convention cities in which large gay communities exist.
the tract deserves one simple reply:.
"doesn't false prophecy identify false religion?".
By the way Met,
I will certainly send this tract to all the local gay chapters in my area.

I have a better idea. What about sending the tract to all the local churches in your area with a letter attached explaining what religious supremesist (spel?) jw really are.
I think this campaign is really going to back fire on them. For so many years JW have been encouraged to be tactful at the doors. They even hide what they are by saying that they are doing a "christian community work".
Now all of sudden again they start preaching fire and brimstone. In a world where tolerance is a household word, here come Jws and their extremist views.
I don't know what they are thinking up there in Brooklyn. Someone has gone mad
