Good for you!!!. Go for it. I graduated lated year from a 3 year program...... I found it at times challenging with a family to take care and an older mind. But it is attainable.

For those of you attending college now (or at least recently have)....
by 2pink inplease remind me what the work load is like.
i went to college and took a few classes in my early 20s, and found it all very easy, but i had a lot less responsibility back then so i think my perception was skewed.
now i am 31, married, 2 kids, soon to be 3. i work very part time from home.

New light: Generation
by 5thGeneration ingot some info from the annual meeting.. unofficially, the 'generation' is now categorized as 2 groups.
the first is 'the 1914 group' and the second is the younger anointed 'contemporaries' who 'actually work for a period of time with those anointed ones'.. the 'generation' is now 'the lifespan of those who actually saw the beginning of the sign and then the lifespan of those who worked with those who saw the beginning of the sign'.. here we go again....

What percentage would you say doubt their belief that are still in?
by user10 inwhat do you think?.

Every dub has doubts. I remember having them as a teenager and so did my friends. The problem is that watchtower conditions you to think that if you have doubts there is something wrong with you. And so most suppress them, thinking that there must be some flaw in themselves.

Reenia says: forensic evidence that leads to a conviction is allowed as the second witness from what I know.
Wanna says : I don't think so darling. They want 2 flesh and blood witnesses. You should update yourself a little better

What the Family Worship Evening Arrangement Really Entails
by cantleave inas most people here know the combined book study allows an evening for "family worship".. the co visits march - august 2009 is really focussing on this.
if a jdub family head doesn't do a full evening of family worship and uses this time to do recreational activities he is as guilty as isrealite who didn't use the sabbath for worship.
the result, will of course be same as the unfaithful isrealite, death!!!!!!!!!

one of the local elders said that "family worship evening" is a REQUIREMENT.

The real purpose of the HLC is to make sure JW's take blood...
by besty in99% of jw's have no idea whats allowed and whats banned - too complex.. so most jw's tick the i accept nothing box.
this from an hlc member i spoke with some time back.
just to be on the 'safe' side, ironically.. anyway imagine the number of dead jw's there would be if this was allowed to run its course.. so imho part of the hlc raison d'etre is to make sure jw's take the blood fractions they are 'allowed'.. thoughts?.

I'm glad this thread has been resuscitated. I have long come to the conclusion that the goverving body wants the rank and file to take fractions and by extention HLC are there to see this through.
In the newest study book "keep yourselves in god's love" page 217 it asks this question regarding the acceptance of blood fractions. It reads:
AM I AWAY THAT REFUSING ALL MEDICAL PROCEDURES INVOLVING THE USE OF MY OWN BLOOD MEANS THAT I WOULD NOT ACCEPT A BLOOD TEST, HEMODIALYSIS, OR A HEART-LUNG BYPASS MACHINE?".
In other words, what mother is saying is : If you don't take fractions this is what will happen.
I've also sensed that the elders are taking a "don't ask--don't tell" stance when it comes to blood products.
As a side note--I believe that at least here in Canda, HLC is now know as Hospital Information Services.
