MEMORIAL AT THE KINGDOM HALL OVERFLOWING WITH NEWCOMERS?
by steve2 inthis is a question for those brave souls who, for whatever reason, attended this year's memorial: .
who else was there?
was there any evidence that the witnesses are still attracting a large crowd of "newly interested ones" (to use their awful phrase) or even complete strangers drawn in by the door-to-door work.. i hear lots of comments about how poorly attended some of the weekly meetings in the halls have now become, so i'm curious about what you guys may have seen when you attended in the past day or so.

Let's see:
Size of congregation: approx. 90 publishers
Distributed: approx. 15,000 invitation
Attendance: 140
Breakdown of attendace:
Disfellowshipped: 8
Family members that come every year: 20
Bible Studies : 10
people that came from invitation work: approx 2
What a flop
I would not say that this year's memorial was a success in my area.

HOME FROM THE MEH-MORIAL....GETS WORSE EVERY YEAR.....
by Mary inwell, i walked in and got the love-bombing before i even made it past the foyer.
everyone's missed me, everyone's thrilled that i came, blah, blah, blah.
to be fair though, there were a few there that i do miss so it was nice to see them.

Home from the memorial too. two weeks were spent deliving 15,000 tracts and 1 person from the territory come. The rest were the usual crowd, the disfellowshipped, family members that make the effort year after year to come to this event. What a farce!!!!!!!!!!!!

i just came back from the memorial
by J. Hofer init wasn't all that bad.
met a few friends who also don't give too much about it and had some great laughs afterwards.
we talked about how we still remember when only about 7000 took from the emblems and now its more than 11000. we also laughed about how it would look like having jesus and his disciples pass around wine and bread on a plate like that.. all in all it was the same procedure as every year.

I tried listening to six screens in the beginning.....but the program is so long and drawn out. Life is too short for it.

Cognizant, thank you for sharing. Stress seems to be a big factor in those nasty flares. Your attitude is very encouraging. I needed this today.

is this site dominated by americans and canadians ?
by the max inim new to this forum, most topics up for discussion are usa centric, and thus for us euro,s are boring, like whats on your tv chanels, wtf, who cares what your watching on tv,i dont come here to listen to that, either promote something intresting, or shut the hell up .

It's dominated by Simon, who is English but lives in Canada. The language of choice is English. But there are a good deal of Ouzzies, and British and Africans, Latino's , Italians, . What we all have in common is the english language.
As to the topics, there are so many topic headings, you can pick and choose what you like.
This is an amazing forum.....please don't critisize it

Thanks Belbab! And sorry about your sister. There have been some strides with Lupus lately but it is still an insidious disease.
