i re-read it after someone posted to it and brought it back on active topics and it was kind of prophetic in a way ... well, i had the 5 years part right if nothing else:.

it would be nice to visit the site (or whatever one is around then) in 5 years time to let people know how we're doing and find only a few of the same people still around.

I do remember in the early 1970 watchtower printing the Jerusalem Bible. And as Dropoff mentioned the Byinton is included in the app.

Did anybody ever find out about the lawsuit connected with it? This is interesting.

Memories of Grace Gough

hi everyone;i'm not on here too much anymore, but i've been asked to write a brief biography of our dear grace gough ('mouthy' on here).

i'm writing my own memories of her but it was also suggested that i maybe contact others who knew her to see if they had a nice memory or two of her they'd like to share.

it would only have to be a paragraph or two and your name can be kept confidential if you like.

a jw family member informed me they are filling out an application to preach the truth in israel.

interested ones in the congregation were asked to start saving now, as the cost of the flights would be their own responsibility.

the time frame for this preaching work is for a couple of weeks in may/june 2017. the applications are to be turned in this sunday.

They read the letter last week. The stress was that Israel is very safe and sisters are encouraged to apply. They want witnesses to go for 2 weeks or more. They did it last year and it appears that this is going to be a yearly campaign.

The dubs are lapping it up and many , even ones that don't have 2 stones to rub together will be be going. They call it going where the "need is great" but I think it "going where the need is FUN".

If it's AAWA, it would be sad to see them using Grace's memory for self-publicity purposes.

I agree with Simon. I am not crazy about AAWA personally and would NOT like to see Grace's biography appear on their site either.

Need input: elders showed up at our door today

so as i announced last week, my wife and i started our fade and i sent in a letter to our body that i was stepping down and cited the arc as the reason and insisted that we not be bothered.

my wife told a few relatives in person that we weren't going to attend meetings any longer (immediate shunning occurred, the new videos must be effective) and that what we found with the arc shocked us etc etc.

i have an inside track on how this is all going down by an awake elder on the body, co told them to handle the matter quickly.

Depending on what you said to others and if others perceive that it's apostasy, then you might be heading towards the chopping block.
