How are you and your girls?
I haven't seen any updates on Talia's condition? Are things improving? Worried about you and your family?

i know a lot of lurkers are probably looking for good excuses and would like a list they could refur to..
1. allergy to the wall paper (I know someone who stays away from meeting because of this)
2. sensitive to mould and perfume
3. getting a call from overseas and didin't feel it would be mannerly to cut them off.
4. play the health card. (Depression, fiber myalgia, migraines, flu, etc.)
I find that if you play it right and don't miss all of them no one will miss you.
Also it helps to be in a big congregation and if someone says I didn't see you , you can say I didin't see you either brother where were you sitting?

i'm just guesstimating with my figures here, but if they're even close it shows what a tremendous waste of life the watchtower is.
some non jw friends tried to point this out to me many years ago.
i wish i listened then.. .
How sad that so many lives are being wasted.
Just this morning when I was taking my kids to school , I saw a couple of young pioneers standing at the corner. I got a knot in the pit of my stomach thinking just as you say. What a waste of resources, money, youth. I really felt sorry for them.
once again, brothers try to strangely compensate for reduced attendance by roping.
off sections and compressing everybody into a smaller area.
is this nuts or what?.
At the local hall they put "reserved" on the last 3 back rows. But it doesn't matter. People come in and take the papers off and sit where they want.
Funny, If you go to a concert or play people want those front seats. They will pay more to sit in the front.
At the halls the opposite occurs. The majority tries to steer away from the front. It shows how much most "love" the meetings.

our 8-year-old son, jackson, is exhibiting the following symptoms:.
* disorganized (unfortunately, this has kind of been since birth but more pronounced now).
* hard to concentrate.
It sounds like he has executive function disorders.
If he has good grades the school will not test him but a private child psycologist might be able to give a lot of information.
You have a p.m.

i have forgotten its title.. something `like how near is the end',something similiar.. showed a man reading something on its cover(if i remember correctly).

The brochure is entitled: "Stay on the Watch!"
This is a tactic to keep the masses of jw thinking the end is around the corner. Also this is the brochure that makes one vague mention to 1914.
The campaign is supposed to last one month BUT you just can't leave this precious piece to just anybody. It has to be left only to ones that show real interest.
The C.O. visiting local congragation said this brochure is more the for jw who are sitting on the fence.

Because they have so much real estate.
i just came across this link advertising an award dinner by the canadian bar association.. http://www.cba.org/cba/news/2004_releases/2004-08-17_probono.asp.
it announces shane brady of georgetown (bethelite) as the winner of the probone award for 2004. i'll let the announcement speak for itself.. .
what burns me is that the brady is on a vow of poverty, and gets his marching orders from bethel.
The venon is coming out of me. This makes me ill.
Letter writing I am in.
Read it it hubby. He is going to call the paper.

i have to tell you something.. i really find it hard getting over the idea of no new system and all that it meant to me.
to be with my children and their children forever in perfect health.. too many days it just leaves me empty.
i just wish i could shake it and enjoy life, but the idea that we just live for 70 years and die kills me.
I also grapple with this from time to time. I try not to think about it.
i checked the "best of..." forum, and didn't see this as a specific link.
there's a list of the typical psychological steps that a person usually goes through in the course of recovering from a traumatic experience: something like- shock, denial, anger, compromise, resolution.
i'd like to see that info again, because, even though i know that i've gone very far into the 'resolution' stage of my life, nevertheless, i find, at times, i revert to the 'anger' stage, and wonder to myself: "where in the heck did that come from?".
revert to the 'anger' stage
Glad I am not the only one that revisits that stage from time to time.
