as i mentioned on another thread , it was very uncommon to ever get any commendation or recognition for any " good" accomplishments i ever did.

you know the jesus expression, " we are good for nothing slaves- what we have done is what we ought to have done.

Hey Flipper, I too was raised by an elder father. It was not a picnic. My father used to take out his frustration in the congregation on the family.I was a very unhappy person. As you I look at my folks being subserviant to a bunch of men for 50 years and I am very saddened. I wonder what our lives would have been had watchtower not been there.

BIG NEWS! Leader of German Watchtower History Archives Resignes and Leaves Branch Office!

johannes wrobel, the founder of the watchtower history archives in germany, responsible for the stand firm-video and the stand-firm-exhibitions resigned in november 2008 and left the german branch office.

he was also the responsible person for many of the wt sponsored websites on jw in the 'third reich'!.

there are no further details known yet but this could be big news!.

older one ?.

as for myself, i kind of liked the older one better, its just seems that the usability was better,.

Any Vegans on the Board?

my new year's resolution is to make the lifestyle change to the vegan-pure vegetarian diet: no animal derived foods.. it is a change i have considered before on different occasions.

i didn't stick with the diet in the past due to lack of information, or perhaps the abundance of misinformation available on the optimum diet.

i've never been grossly overweight, probably never over 170 lbs.

It's easier today to follow a vegan diet than in the past.

I have a couple of vegan friends, however they have to take many supplements to compensate. For example many people are iron deficiency. You can get iron from vegetables such as spinach, however the body does not absorb it in the same was as the body absorbs iron from a piece of meant.

If you can follow that diet and are happy with it good for you but remember that veganism is not a magic bullet that will cure all the ills of the body.

How are bible studies now reported?

can someone who still goes to meetings answer this for me?

from what i have heard, the study report slip is no longer used.

are bible studies still counted and put on the time slip?

As of last month there was a study report form for the congregation book study. But with the bookstudy gone--I don't see the point--the form will no doubt be fased out

the Study Report slip is no longer used.

You are correct! Study slips with householders' name and address are no longer collected. All they ask is that pubishers record the number of studies on the regular report slip. No questions asked!

I believe that with all the privacy laws being enacted--watchtower may have gotten in hot water somewhere.

This is good news for us fakers. I have a few imaginary bible studies.
