I'll chime in too. I also went back to college after forty. It's the best thing I could have done. If you don't want to go to a physical school, there are so many online university and colleges with a variety of programs to choose from.
Good luck.

WOOW!! I have just read a loooong thread where the good people from this board rallied to give you support and now it has become damaging to you?????? excuse my sarcasm!! Intellectual freedom to think and say and believe should never be stifled. It is something that should be treasured and applauded and encouraged. After having lived through so much censorship in watchtowerland, most find it refreshing to hear the thoughts and ideals of others. Turning your back on a wonderful forum because you don't agree with their thinking patterns is no different than what the society does to members who don't agree with their teachings. If you want to leave....then you should do it for the right reason, whether that reason is because you want to take a break to pursue other things or focus on your home life. I consider myself a believer and try daily to build up my faith. Reading opposing viewpoints helps me greatly to make personal choices when it comes to developing a personal set of beliefs in my creator. Otherwise how could you make a good choice if you never take the time to listen and understand the viewpoints of others. Further , as one poster said you don't have to read what you don't want to. It's your choice. Their is so much on this board and you can choose those threads and posts that build you up. As other fellow posters have done, I also will miss your posts ( I sent you a PM a while back). Goodbye for now and hope things work out the way you wish.

18 "unnecessary death" due to blood refusal in Russia
by behemot inthe refusal of medically indicated blood transfusions by jehovahs witnesses sectarians resulted in the death of 18 patients, including eight children, according to an article on thursday in komsomolskaya pravda (kp) citing examples of such deaths.
two criminal cases were opened concerning the deaths of children in such cases, the first was filed in kogalym (in the khanty-mansi autonomous okrug in western siberia), and a second was opened in october in moscow.
the mother of the child who died in kogalym refuses to recognise any criminal responsibility in her action.

Nathan Natas - regularly exceeding expectations!
by Nathan Natas inone secret to success is to follow the example set by previous successful people.
in neuro-linguistic programming this is called "modelling behavior.".
minimus has show himself to be a person of spectacular, virtual "overnight" success, but we all know this is a result of rigorous daily effort and a pathologically high level of self-esteem.. i crave the same rewards - sex, drugs, rock n' roll - that minimus has enjoyed, and to obtain them i am willing to cast off my previously humble reserved nature and indulge in blatant self-aggrandizement.

Birthdays rob the glory of God
This is such an infantile and stupid comment. Where is it written in scripture? If this were true then why do witnesses celebrate the "pre-birth day" (baby showers). Why do they bring gifts to a newborn? By watchtower's rule, would these not be robbing "the glory of God"?

DMCA Complaint from The WatchTower for links to KS-10 'Shepherding' book
by Simon inyes, that's right, they really do not like people being able to read that book so they wanted links to it removed (it appears they have also been going after the hosts of the content itself as well).. unfortunately, i had to removed the links (which were dead anyway when i checked) and i'd ask that people don't re-post them (sorry).
i'm sure there are lots of alternative ways for those with the information to get it to those who need it.. here are the discussions on the book:.

Jesus Trashes 1914 in ONE Sentence!
by Farkel init only takes one short sentence from the bible to thoroughly demolish the watchtower religion and the doctrine they claim is their most important one.
this sentence is so crystal clear that there is no way the wts can weasal out of it.
that's why they don't even try.. although their real most important doctrine is that the governing body speaks for god, their claimed most important doctrine begins with the notion that jesus took kingdom power and began reigning in 1914. if that doctrine can be shown to be false, the entire watchtower theology scam crumbles into the trash heap where it belongs.

The 'Society' knows this is a problem. A few years back, at the district convention, they attempted to address this 'small problem'. A brother gave a talk and I was recording the convention. I might have this recording somewhere. It would not be labelled. I would have to listen to lot's of crap to find it even if I did manage to get a recording at the time. The equipment I had at the time had some issues.
But, this is the one line that they used to muddle it up. The speaker read the scripture where it says "all... then he said "yes... ALL BUT NOT ALL"
Never forgot that.
Now, typically, anything 'new' at a district convention comes out later in a Washtower article. But this did not. I waited. Still waiting...
The Washtower does the Devil's bidding. The washtower-satan-and-friends-society.

I was one of those children. We thought the end would come. There was a family in our hall that wanted to live the rest of their time in a trailer home. I was told not to worry too much about getting good grades in school....I would finish the rest of my education in the new world. ......... What a farce!!!!
