By 1984 I was in my 6th regular pioneer. year. I was preaching like an energizer bunny. because the end was so very close.

i was almost 5 years old when these were released.

Brother Jackson visits the Italy branch
by LaFrancia inbrother jackson visits the italy branch.to all the missing brothers and ex-brothers greetings stay healthy!this week brother jackson from world headquarters is visiting rome and bologna where the new branch will be built (by now the watchtower has turned into a multinational construction company and the old days are just a beautiful faded memory).the bethel of "italian/dissident/fugitive/spiritual" witnesses (active, but who do not agree with the organization's policies and directives because they are unscriptural) which has only a virtual location on the internet, (john 4:23, 24) will inform with a simple report this weekend.these are routine visits, but sometimes information of interest to the lord's servants can come out by mistakegreetings.

The years of boasting about increases are long gone. There is no increases anywhere on the globe. Witnesses are fooling themselves about any perceived growth.
Thank you for the update.

If it makes you feel better Then go ahead and send it. I've written many letters over the years that I never sent simply because I know that no one will read it. As soon as they get a whiff of disgruntle they will file it in the garbage.
But I feel your frustration having older parents and having to do the same.

New light: the GB are infallible
by AEnEm inamazing new light in the latest morning worship by gary breaux.
the gb "never lie or deceive us.
we can have absolute trust in the governing body".. he then makes a very helpful point, so as to avoid being deceived and avoid lies.

He is not saying the gb is infallible, but there sure is a lot of adulation. Especially with his last sentence.
Arrogant to the max.

Disaster preparedness
by ElderBerry inas your family considers its disaster preparedness plan, please ensure that the secretary has up-to-date contact information for you and your emergency contact.
also, we have re- peatedly seen good results when brothers and sisters are prepared with go bags and are ready to obey direction when they face various kinds of disasters.
please be sure you have a go bag, and review its contents at least once a year.

Are they getting grants and funding for this? In Canada there are grants available for organization for their disaster prepareness programs. The way they go at it, money must be involved

Assembly with the branch representative
by LaFrancia inwe had the meeting with the branch representative this weekend.. the air was different than usual.. bearded ushers at the parking lots welcomed the brothers warmly.. lots of sisters with dress pants or not, nothing scandalous.. the representative of the italian branch made his debut on stage with his full beard.. location: roseto degli abruzzi (italy-europe).
some interesting statistical data can give a little food for thought after the numerous changes that have occurred in recent months (the ten-year or five-year plan, if you prefer, seems to be producing some small results).. attendance has increased since the last meeting.. our constituency includes 1725 publishers and those present in the morning were 1553, a little better than the november 2023 convention.
perhaps the new changes have brought some back to attendance?.

The new fashion of baptizing minors is confirmed.
Hello LaFrancia , Thank you for this. Perhaps the above phrase got lost in the translation. What do you mean by it.

New light
by Elena inthings are changing so rapidly.
there is so much confusion now.. if we can talk to disfellowshiped/disassociated ones to invite them to meetings then is it really going to stop there?.
some family members haven’t had contact for decades and now after yesterdays new light they will all be getting calls.

No signs of a "sorry folks, we were wrong".
I think of all the pain people went through because of the old policies and now all wiped out. No shame.

I have a crick in my neck from shaking my head side to side. With Norway and Spain, it was a matter of time that these changes would happen. I just didn't think they would happen so soon.
