Jehovah's Witnesses are not a CULT ...

that leaves 70% that show quite the opposite.

Cult:...A person or group that has a following of a person, place, or thing........

Star Trek has a following.......Star Wars has a folloing.......Matel has a following......Superman has a following....Religions have a following, ects, so forth and so on.

These things are called cult(s). Cults are a wide subjects. So to break down the followings in the theological issues to orthodox, a cult is a following of those who lead off the christian dostrine in creating their own private interpretation of the Bible. "2 Peter 1:20.21," ...knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."

Russell did it; Smith did it, Arius did it.....

Finding The Truth

why is it so hard to find truth in the bibe?

there's an easy answer....you allow other influnces to enter into your conclusions.. i mean let's take a scripture.....1 john 5:1.....the very beginning it says, "whoever........" that word, whoever," means every living being that ever was..ever will be..on this earch that reads that word means all of us.........yet...the watchtower kicked out and disfellowshipped cris & norma sanchez..which was head of the spanish translation commettee.

the sanchez were responable for, all, spanish translations through out the world.

Why is it so hard to find truth in the Bibe? Why? There's an easy answer....You allow other influnces to enter into your conclusions.

The Sanchez were responable for, all, spanish translations through out the world. Why were they disfellowshipped?

Cris Sanchez took a look at 1 John 5:1..."Whoever.........."meaning all those who believes that Christ was from God is born again...of the anounted.....and shares the hope with us all.

So if you compare 1John 5:1 with Romans 8:8......

See how easy that was? Of course one needs to pray before entering into the bible to see the truth of it all.

It was bad all around. As for that Awake, it does not give an excuse to blabb, period. I know doctors and nurses who are JWs who refuse to break that oath. And those who do wonder why they don't have a job......lol.....that's an offense enough to pull their license.

A friend of mine had a little different happening. I'll call her Andi. Well Andi was a Witness, single, and decided to go visit a bar she heard about in San Bernadino California. She lived in Riverside California.

Well that night she was dancing and someone slipped her something in her drink. The next day she found herself in some guy's house and slipped out and went home. Since she was a Witness and didn't want to report, the guy slipped her something, to the police, but she took off to see a Doctor in Orange, because she was worried about a disease and not wanting to be found out by the Elders on one slip up about going to a single's bar.

The office manager of the Doctor's office, a woman, and unknown to Andi, was a Witness. After filling out the form, including stating that Andi was a Witness, the office manager contacted Andi's congregation of Jehovah Witness's Elders.

A week later the Elders came to Andi about this. Andi was so angered, she threw out the Elders and contacted an attorney and filed against the Doctor, the office manager, and everyone else that was working at the Doctor's office.

The settlement was made out of court, due to the "Doctor-Patient Confidentiality Act." The office manager was fired and the Doctor filed against the former office manager to the medical board. Office manager was an RN.

So you see, no one is protected against the Governing Body. Later Andi left the organization of the Watchtower..She had enough.

Be careful whom you let know you're a witness when privacy comes into play.

I am a magnet for men in cults

okay, so the ex-jw boyfriend and i finally broke up... and i am not really looking for anyone right now.

that was 2 and a half years of a pretty crazy relationship, and i don't think that i was particularly healthy staying in it.

i don't mind just hanging out with some guys, but i am not in the mood for anything serious after that roller coaster ride.. do you know what is so weird, though?

There are too many to cover so I'll give you just a few or so of their doctrines.......

1)Brigham Young(2nd. President of the LDS church) said that It was God Himself that came down as Adam with Eve to be parents of the Earth.

2)Satan,Lucifer, Jesus's brother......

3) God was once himself a man

4) That Brigham Young said that Joseph Smith was his God....

Now the LDS church might denie no. 1 & 4, but it's written in the Journal of Discourse.

Oh 1 more doctrinal statement..it's a winner.........that God came down to earth and had sex with Mary to give birth to Jesus. LDS denie the, "Maculate Conception," where the Holy Spirit set the seed of Christ in Mary.

Watchtower Teach That Jesus Is A Spirit?

many witnesses say that when jesus was resurrected he came back as a spirit.

yet their own authority, new worlds translation of the holy spirit, state different.........."see my hand and my feet, that is i myself; feel me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones just as you behold that i have.

As for Lovelylilly, again...you explain it in a more easier reading then I could. And no one really think of this one subject....that is...flesh and blood and flesh and bones. When Christ rose from the dead, He had no blood in His body. He gave up His life giving blood on the cross.

Some jws speculate that Christ took His bood to the Father in heaven..where He was(((suppose))) to have an alter there....to do it over again...yet the alter was the cross.......

Jesus+ Ministers+Heaven

i had a friend call me the other day(monday).

he asked me if jws feel they are ministers.

then he told me to go to john 12:26,(nwths)..it reads....," if anyone minister to me, let him follow me, and where i am there will be my ministery also.

Lovelylilly....you are so right on the point..I may, at time, don't quite relay clearly what I'm trying to get across. I have no problem explaining to scholars. And I can only pray there are more folks out there like you who can clearly see it.

The Bible is quite easy to understand, providing the Holy Spirit guide one along the way. And for sure, anyone who truily desires to seek God, God Himself will make sure the Holy Spirit guides them along the way.
