YOU HEARD WHAT FROM WHOM? Now I've heard, almost, everything and this is a mouthful. I think the Watchtower wants to cover all their bases, as garybuss says. As for Augustine, all things are opinions, but one point....We all wait for the coming of the blessed hope that as Christ came He promised us He would call on us at the appointed time.

The Ressurection Hope.
by Daunt inok, i never understood this.
ok so the jw's believe that we should try to get all the people we can into the force so they can go to the new world.
but, there was a series of talks about the ressurection about a month ago, saying right after armeggedon we're going to be ressurected and continue living through the thousand year rain where people's scrolls will be wiped clean and satan and his demons won't be able to tempt us anymore.

Who is the Faithful and Discrete Slave?
by Etude inrecently, i've had memories about that topic, which i had suppressed for a long time.
my original question came up when i encountered a few members of the "anointed" in my congregation (we're talking almost 30 years ago).. there was one sister who partook of the "emblems" who had come from cuba.
i learned from her that her health was frail because she had smuggled some expensive jewelry in a condom and stuck it up her colon.

EDULE, According to my understanding, the christians are of the faithful slave(s),(my opinion), yet my opinion doesn't count as scripture states that Christ is the Faithful Slave.
POLE, gave an example by a link, http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/94909/1.ashx . But when I went to the link, ESTEPHANLEVESE, brought up another question in my mind.
If Jehovah God created all things, yet in John 1:2-3, tells us that Christ created all things. As a BAC, I agree. Yet it would be a huge paradox to any or all Jehovah Witnesses, because it would say that Christ is Jehovah God, which I agree....

Another 607 / 587 BCE question, How do JW's fix the 20 years ??
by run dont walk inok, since all the evidence and people/scholars etc, all agree that jerusalem was destroyed in 587/586 bce and not 607 bce.
how do the jw's get the extra 20 years, i understand the 2520 years and going back from 1914. but alot of the proof goes by adding up the kings reigns, and it gets you to the 587/586 date, do jw's simply add on a few years for each king, or is their a mystery king that ruled for 20 years that only they know about.. hhhhhhmmmmmmm.
hope my question makes sense.

Watchtower doesn't have to prove anytrhing according to Bethel. either you accept the 607 thing or you won't be baptized. And if you doubt and you're a witness, don't go running to the Elders and ask.You might risk the commette and being Dfd.
History teaches us that 587 B.C. was the fall.....not 607. The watchtower has no verification on 607. That's what they depend upon. They know they will find plenty who'll believe it.

Can you refute these?
by Mary Phooty in1. are jesus and michael the archangel really the same person?.
one of the most peculiar of the wtss teachings is their assertion that jesus is actually michael the archangel.
" in acts 10:19-20, this "impersonal force" considers himself to be a person.

Very good Mary......The jews knew that no man could forgive sins.Yet Jesus did. The jews acused him of being God. John 10:33. Jesus never refuted them.
AS for worship Hebews 1:6.....And in Matthew 2:2....the birth of Christ htey worshipped him.

Why are beards so bad?
by bother_forever inwhats with the idelology behind jws that "bro's" with beards are undeserving of privledge and advacemet in their f**cked up org?
what jesus never had facial hair?
i remember hearing comments like " yes he's a lovely bro, but he'll not be used by the cong because he needs to shave his beard".
-
RevFrank
nothing wrong with them according to the old jewish law. The Torah( first 4 books of the Old Testament) spoke of maintaining their facial hair.......The Watchtower wants you to believe that Jesus was shaved. That's a lie. Jesus walked the earth, he had to maintain as an example of following the law of the Torah. HE had a beard.

Apocalypse delayed again
by Hellrider ini have not been in contact with jws since around 1988. i initially got out at the age of 15 in 1987, then there was some back-and-forth-crap, i went to some meetings, but then i was thru, in 1988. the only contact after that was one time, in 1989, when my grandmother died (she was a jw), and the service was held at kh.
anyway, the point here is: it was new to me that the wts is in the process of moving away from the 1914-doctrine.
and moving towards a more "liberal" kind of "well, never mind what we said about 1914, we are the last generation and the signs are there"-doctrine, without even trying to define whatever that means.

Just one more thought......the witnesses had their General Assembly this past week end out here in Lincoln Nebraska.

So, Who's minding the store? This is nothing new to me. I left once in 1976 (1976 issue and the mediatorship) then again 1988. After that I've been following closely....Even in 1995 about dropping their main teaching on the issue of 1914 when they changed their publication in their AWAKE.
Ever wonder why I say that the Watchtower is a part of the antichrist?
I was never really planning to study ancient greek, Arabic, or hebrew until I began to study with the jehovah witnesses nor becoming a born again christian minister.
Today the elders, GB, nor Bethel will even talk to me. Well they might until they find out who I am..lol

Proof: The Watchtower Lied About College
by metatron inmay 22 1969 awake .
"if you are a young person, you also need to face the fact that you will never grow old.
in this present system of things...... therefore, as a young person, you will never fulfill any career that this system offers.

Right Metatron......In the early 1970s they, watchtower, discouraged me from going to college. I planned to receive scholarships too. The Elders reminded me of 1975...which was only a year away, too.
So I didn't attend..............
