  My nephew won a contest!

  normally i'm not a big fan of posting pictures of kids online... but as it was his mother who posted it i don't mind bragging a little.

  he is so cute (and such a mess) he won a contest.

His name is Cooper. The picture is grainy because my sister-in-law's camera sucks... but he's adorable anyway, my little man.

  the talk about christmas has gotten my juices flowing!

  i have tons of holiday stuff bookmarked for my own use.....and thought maybe somebody might want to take a peek at a few of these to see what interests them and their families.

  i never seem to get tired of looking through pages like these, and have actually made many of the crafts projects over the last seven borg-free years.. hope you can find something you enjoy!

  Thanks again Jackie----for the extra links you provided! I looked at them both and I may just be scrapping some of the projects I had aready mentally lined up, to make room for these blankets! What a terrific idea for gifts!!!

  No problem at all. They are great gifts to give and easy to make -- both requirements for me ;)

  I have one I sleep under... it's so soft and warm, I've refused to sleep under anything else since I got it.

  That's for a baby blanket, but the concept is the same. The other nice thing about them is you don't have to be anal and exact with your measurements... it's very forgiving of approximations and still looks great.

  No thanks necessary... I love Christmas projects!!!

  No glue... just the fleece. The fringe is each side of the blanket tied together... the whole thing is just double knotted together. I probably didn't explain it too well... let me see if I can find an instructive link and I'll be back.

  What would you do?

  barbie doll's grandson called yesterday saying the his fiancee, wants to meet us.

  his hasn't willingly visited us for more than 10 years.

  the last few times we saw him, was when we stopped his work, every time we invited to come and visit us and he never has.

  Remember that family can often be more important to girls than to guys. Perhaps her motives are pure... you don't know it's not true, so why start out with suspicion?

  When my guy's uncle passed away I made a point to send flowers to the funeral. My guy warned me that his aunt may interperet as me wanting to get into her good graces to get her money. My feeling on the matter was that sending flowers was the right and respectful thing to do... and if she had an issue with it it was her issue, not mine. I was only trying to be nice and offer support during a difficult time.

  My point is, don't let it be your issue. Assume the best and perhaps you will find a wonderful connection that you would otherwise have missed. If they prove to have ill intentions, then at least you know you gave them every opportunity and will only regret their behavior, not yours.

  Also, I will get some clear ornaments and stuff them with the garland you see below or similar along with some tinsel. Then I take a paint marker and either decorate the outside or personalize it with a name and year, etc.
