I think Mary Jane should be legal for everyone, including Mary Ann
While I agree with you it says she was arrested for driving under the influence, which I do have a problem with. Jackie

I manage the floor on a casino. I get a lot of attitudes from players, dealers, and supervisors. My best advice to you is this: do your job and do it well... and beyond that if someone has an issue with you let it be their issue. You don't have to own a problem someone else has, even if it's with you. It's their problem so just let it be their's. I've been called Satan, the devil's minion, a "f*cking muslim loving b*tch", among many other things, to my face. More than anything it amuses me because, again, it's their problem if they have an issue with me, not mine. How I react is a choice. I choose to be amused rather than allow it to spoil my mood and ruin my day.

but he seems to have an obsession with burying things in walls, and floors
I always felt he had an obsession with being entombed alive. In many of his stories where people are entombed they are still alive... or they come back to life... or they are entombed with a cat that's alive... etc. I've often wondered if it wasn't one of his greatest fears and that's why he could write in such a way that others find the story to be frightening as well.

My favorite is "The Tell Tale Heart"
The Tell-tale Heart is a great story. I've heard people debate whether the murderer hears the old man's beating heart because he's made or if it's his guilty conscience. Surely the description he gives of himself watching the old man every night, finally creeping into his room, and being driven mad by the old man's eye speaks to his insanity... however, I think it's his guilty conscience over killing the old man which causes him to hear his heart.
I remember The Black Cat and The Pit and the Pendulum were good
I always enjoy The Black Cat. That he walls up the cat with his murdered wife and it gives him away is great... especially as he believes that it is the cat he killed. The Pit and the Pendulum is an interesting read, but for some reason I don't enjoy it as much as his other stories. I still enjoy it more than, say, The Great Balloon Hoax or Berenice, but it's not one of my favorite's of Poe's.
