Posting reunion photo soon with my granddaughter
by Nancy K indear friends, i am relatively 'new' on this website, but i have been posting about not being allowed to see my granddaughter and the 'shunning' thing..i was just going to start a court proceding(my husband is an attorney)to try and get visitation, then my dad passed away..many of you wrote to me and showered me with much needed support.
thru my dad's 'passing', i had to contact my daughter and we had a long 'talk' and she wasn't 'shunning' me after all..my sister, who is a "double-life" witness told my daughter some terrible lies about me which were ridiculous, and my daughter at that time was being treated for depression, so she didn't know what to think(as my sister is a witness, and she naturally assumed she was being truthful)..i have a damaged neurological system from 8 months of very high-dose chemo, at times i use a cane, i have chronic pain, etc.,but it is all from my illness..my sister was telling my daughter i was on drugs, and yes i am on medication, but not medication that gets one 'high', this is medication i must be on for life.
so, thru my dad's passing, a miracle has happened, after 2 years of missing my granddaughter, in a few weeks i will be spending an entire weekend with her and my grandson whom i haven't seen, so my daughter and her husband can have some 'alone' time!!

Could you trust someone who has been sexually abus
by Jesika inabused to babysit for your children???
i was thinking about this today, in light of my son's well being, being questioned.
stats show that people who have been sexually abused go on to later abuse someone else.

I think that most parents look for any kinda red flag in their mind. I don't have any children yet, but I would have to say honestly, that if I didn't know the person, I might be concerned. My best male friend was sexually abused as a child and my best girlfriend was physically abused, and I would trust either one of them completely with my child. I think the bottom line is when you aren't familiar with someone, basically everything about them is suspect.

Ban Bread Not Guns
by ThiChi ina very outrageous example of how one can use statistics for their own agenda: .
1. more than 98 percent of convicted felons are bread users.
2. fully half of all children who grow up in bread-consuming households score below average on standardized tests.

How great that you guys are that much in love, even after a year together. I agree with everyone else, I think we can keep you busy here. Also, you know I checked out that yahoo collapse game. I can't remember who, but somebody started a thread about it a awhile back. It's addictive. Get on it, and time will fly. Before you know it, your sweetie will be home, and you will have a new hobbie.

Breaks my heart
by MrMoe inthe other day a foster mom asked if she could talk to me for a moment.
it seems a little boy i become more than close to here at the school will be up for adoption very soon, as his parents will not be allowed to have contact with him after years worth of thier case being reviewed due to child abuse and neglect.
she asked me if i would like to raise him and adopt him as my own.

Mr. Moe, I think I can understand your sadness. Some people just have a real heart for kids, especially ones that are abused and neglected. You want to take them all in, and love them. You did the responsible thing though by realizing that you couldn't really provide for him. I have really been contemplated getting involved in foster care. It makes me so sad to see so many children with so much turmoil in their young lives. I have always wanted to help in some way, if even for a short time. I know that you are not a believer, but I will be praying for this little boy, that he will be placed in a wonderful home with loving parents. He is lucky even now to have you in his life, if even only as an adult figure who has been able to show him love. You are such a kind person with a big heart. People like that always end up feeling more pain, cause they take on the weight of so much besides themselves.

Most ridiculous statements from the JW stage?
by Smiles inwe have all sat at jw meetings and heard some ridiculous statements that were either shocking or just plain old bunk.
usually it is the same jw individuals that make those statements time and time again.
you know the type..... you can almost expect such comments from them.. jws place great importance on what statements or persons are 'stage worthy'.

I have never been a JW so I have to live vicariously through my best friend who was raised a JW.
The first gem she ever told me about was when she was counseled at age 8 for being "difficult" Her father was physically abusive, and an elder told her that if he had a daughter that acted the way she did, that he would beat them too.
The other was her grandmother, who did not like me very much at all, shouted as she was leaving one night, "You just go out with that bunch of girls, who knows what they've got you into, you're probably wearing BLACK underwear now" Apparently balck undergarments are another sign of the devil, incidentally she was not wearing black underwear.
I know these weren't from a stage, but I just had to share them.

Do you still like your user name?
by JH inat first when we joined, we all choose a user name that would identify us.
we also had the choice of puting a picture next to our user name.
often, some change the picture for a better one.

I am a big sopranos fan, plus my real name means "from the meadow." So I thought that Meadow was a pretty name and also held significance for me. I was born in 1977, and I use my birthdate every chance I get. I actually am still pretty happy with my name.

I have never been much of a computer queen, until I found this site. I have to admit that I have been sucked in. I love it here, and spend way more time here than I should. Since I have been hanging out on the computer more though, I have also discovered other places I like hanging out at too. Also, I have discovered that there are some nice locations for shopping which is my other favorite recreation. So, where are some of your favorite sites. Where do you like to hang out when your'e not here?
For shopping I really enjoy a place called red envelope. It can be reached here http://www.redenvelope.com/re/gifts/product_display/home.jsp?nc=91008&BV_SessionID=@@@@0068944272.1042065978@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccladchelhhgedcefecefedfgfdfmg.0&refPg=%2fhome.jsp&hp=-9782&nc2=1
I also love playing bones and was so happy to discover that you could play online. Here is where I like to play. http://games.yahoo.com/games/login2?page=do
It's a yahoo thing though, so I guess you have to have yahoo to play.
When I need to put on my domestic goddess cap, I check out this site for great recipes
