  Would some of us be better off as Witnesses?

  i have often wondered if many people would be better off if they stayed witnesses.

  some people i have known have really gone off the deep end after they left the watchtower.

  most all of my family have left now (not due to me as i was cut off from them for years) and many others i know who have left are now bitter atheists or have become pagans and worship stones or new ageers playing with crystals.

  You can prove the foundation and than one has to work from there. Faith is important but a solid empirical foundation must exist first. (I do not want to get burned as I and many of did with the Witnesses)

  i have often wondered if many people would be better off if they stayed witnesses.

  some people i have known have really gone off the deep end after they left the watchtower.

  most all of my family have left now (not due to me as i was cut off from them for years) and many others i know who have left are now bitter atheists or have become pagans and worship stones or new ageers playing with crystals.

  If I said the heart pumps blood, and you said that is your opinion, I could prove it to you by experiment if you were willing to look into it. The key is provable fact, not opinion.

  The problem with your example is that the heart is a tangible object, thereby lending itself to experimentation to determine its true functions. Most religious beliefs are based on faith, speculation and heresay, none of which can be proved, scientifically or othewise.

  For instance, you can probably prove scientifically that Jesus was a man, a Jew and walked the earth. So what? Was he really the son of God? Is there a scientific experiment that can prove that?

  And we may find that some are valid, others invalid

  According to whom? Who gets to be the judge? You? Me? Or is it between the individual and their God? I believe the latter to be true.

  Jehovah's Witnesses do not teach morality. They legislate morality. If you are not moral you will be punished. So witnesses out of fear of losing friends and family are moral.

  Also, you are assuming tha because the witnesses use a Bible and pray that they are a religion. Nothing could be further from the truth. The watchtower is a publishing company and the rank and file are their book salesmen. The religion part is just a sham to get the salesmen feeling good about their specialness and thus work harder. Nothing more, nothing less.

  My Job Interview Today

  well, it went sorta shaky today i guess.

  this is a temp service job interview and gives job placements for those who match interests between employer and employee.. i told the interviewer that i am deaf and can read lips, but problem was he wasn't making it easy for me.

  his lips moved faster than the tansmania devil that i had to slow him down a good number of times.

  I have some patches on my forehead which I tried to cover with my bangs.

  Hi and good luck with that job interview.

  I must say though that I have never heard a man refer to that particular hair style as "bangs". Usually just women call them that. Am I correct? Maybe it's just me.
