I also have just realized why many of you have left the truth. It is because you worshiped the WTS. You worshiped the organization. And so when you saw that people in the organization were imperfect or saw wrongdoing or what you perceived as wrongdoing being committed, you were stumbled and left Jehovah and his people. On the other hand, true JWs upon seeing the imperfections of men in the organization are not stumbled because they worship Jehovah not the organization.

3rd, if everyone here had agreed with you and your opinions that would have been okay, right? Then we would have all been highly intelligent because we had seen things your way? So, if anyone who agrees with you are all super intelligent and anyone who agrees with AlanF, well those people are all dumb and worshippers of men as well as the Watchtower Society?

Well, you have certainly put us in our place. You are so darn smart that you know why we left the truth. You are so darn smart that you know that we all once worshipped the Watchtower Society. And you, being a true blue JW have seen their imperfections and have remained a JW.

Your passionate retort is so ridiculous that it seems petty. I believe that even AlanF knows that he is not right all the time, no one said he was. Most of us only know AlanF from this Board. We do not bow down to him, or serve him, or pray to him, or sell magazines for him. Get a grip!

As I said before, you came here with an agenda. I believe it was to convert all of us nasty exJW's to your way of thinking. Did you have a bet with someone that you could do it? Was money involved? Because now it is plain that you are unhappy and grumpy that things did not go your way. And do you know why they did not go your way? It's simple. It is because you are wrong, wrong, wrong. You have deluded yourself into believing the words and actions of mere mortal men.

Perhaps you should just go away, sit down somewhere and wait for Armageddon. As you know, it is imminent, right around the corner.

It's more than that. They had to supply evidence TWICE after 1991 as part of the standard associate NGO re-evaluation process, which they passed.

3rd, are you being obtuse on purpose? What I am sure that Ziro meant was that the Malawians could have simply obtained the card while not supporting the party at all. For their safety no one else had to be aware of their true feelings.

Likewise, someone could have said Heil Hitler and not supported the Nazi party at all. In fact, many did just to stay alive. They were smart enough to keep their real feelings to themselves.

You have just made a typical response by someone that when faced with the facts does not want to acknowledge them. You write a bunch of words and rhetoric as if it were fact but offer no proof of what you say.

Really? Well, actually, I was thinking the same thing about you. What a coincidence, huh?

The only difference is that I did not use quite so many words as you and I did not go back and cust and paste and cut and paste and cut............ to try desperately to prove my point.

As is true with the Bible, and with all other writings, that they can be made to prove whatever a clever person wants them to prove. You are clever and it's your agenda to prove that the Organization did not commit spiritual prostitution with the UN. Well, you can cut and paste and use that as proof to infinity if you want, and you would still be wrong.

For your information, the Organization has been toying with joining the United Nations since the early 1970's. Maybe, Sir, you should go back to your source at the United Nations and ask him (or her) if there was any correspondence between the Organization and the United Nations back then as to their joining as an NGO.

Maybe they have something you can cut and paste.

When I get some FACTS and not just your OPINION of what you have found to cut and paste I will be more than happy to acknowledge them.

The Organization had been gearing up to be an NGO long before they actually applied:
Criteria for association with DPI

the NGO must support and respect the principles of the Charter of the UN and have a clear mission statement with those principles
the NGO must be recognized nationally or internationally
the NGO should operate solely on a not-for-profit basis and have tax-exempt status
the NGO must have the commitment and the means to conduct effective information programmes with its constituents about UN activities
the NGO should have an established record of continuity of work for a minimum of three years and should show promise of sustained activity in the future
the NGO should have a satisfactory record of collaboration with UN Information Centres/Services or other parts of the UN System prior to association
the NGO should provide an audited annual financial statement, conducted by a qualified, independent accountant
the NGO should have statutes/by-laws providing for a transparent process of making decisions, elections of officers and members

When the WTS applied for association as an NGO they at that time had to give I believe 6 references to articles about the UN. Of course, they had such references because they have since the inception of the UN wrote articles about them and their efforts. The articles existed not because they were trying to get a library card for the UN facilities. They had written articles long before they applied for a card.

I 'll wager none of the articles they submitted showed the Harlot on the back of the multiheaded Wild Beast!

I really don't know what your purpose is in coming to this Board and why you are trying so hard to convince us of the Organization's inocence in joing the United Nations, but I must say that as your argument becomes longer and the more you plead for us to believe the Organization is completely innocent in this United Nations matter, the weaker your argument appears.

The real truth is that they are not innocent, they knew that what they were doing was wrong, they have lawyers and psychologists and other professionals on staff advising them on every detail of the many steps they take, and they absolutely knew that what they were doing was against everything that they had taught previously. In addition, they used the Awake magazine to promote the United Nation's programs and charter.

I cannot believe that you really believe that a JW in good standing could remain so and tell the Organization that they have joined the United Nations as an NGO.

Whatever you are smoking, I think you should share your source with the rest of us

Can you imagine this conversation taking place between Bethel and an elder.

Elder: The victim family wants to go to the police.

Bethel: No, tell them they shouldn't.

Elder: But your 1992 letter says all have a responsibility to report child molestation. And it says it is their absolute right to report even unsubstantiated abuse.

Bethel: Thats just a cover up. Thats not really our policy. The lawyers think we should try to hide it. They like being sued and going to court you know.

Do you think this conversation has ever taken place? Lets be reasonable please.

I am an elder in my congregation.

The PO assigned recently assigned me to call the Serice Desk to report a case of child abuse.

A 17 year old brother had been found on top of a five year old girl by the girl's mother. They were both fully clothed when discovered.

The boy had been questioned and punishment was to be held in abeyance until we received instruction from the society. After I explained why I was calling they connected me to the Legal Department and I had almost the same conversation with a Watchtower representative that you outlined above. Well, okay, the words were not the same, but there was a VERY STRONG suggestion to handle the matter internally. One of the things I was aked by the representative was if the boy had had an erection. We had posed that question to him already and he denied having one and I told that to the representative. The rest of the conversation is too private to share and it might incriminate someone so I won't say more.

It's sad that you are so quick to defend the Watchtower organization because it does not matter how great their policy is. It is just a policy that they like to point to. It's implementation seems to be effective on a congregation by congregation basis and is iffy at best.

Since JWs do not judicially punish members for reporting crimes or for separating from their mate...............

You, Sir, are beginning to try my patience.

Any Witness knows that if the elders preceive a member took a wrong action, there are ways that they can be punished that have nothing to do with a judicial hearing. There are other ways that a member can be ostrasized and made to feel that he is punished.

Hi Big Rex. I too love history. I really wish I could have gone to college and studied it. I have many history books, but because of limited time they serve as decorative pieces.

JWs do not transfer known child molesters to different parts of the country to continue to serve as elders.

Okay, now you have just lost me. Are you really so naive as that?

Let's take just the case of Bethel Elder, Brother Jesus Cano, one of the most respected elders at the Bethel Farm. He is the "fine spiritual man" who was recently arrested after a raid at the Bethel Farm. Although it is not now widely known he is one of the brothers who "many years ago" was a known sexual deviant in his congregation. But because he had convinced the Governing Body that he was repentant, he was allowed to serve in the congregation in a prominent position until he finally became a member of the Bethel Family. He probably wanted to go there because it is primarily a male environment and he could be closest to those who gender he was attracted to.

So, okay, the Watchtower, has the aboslute, the finest, the best, the first, the number one child molestation policy of any church or organization or temple or synagogue on earth today. SO WHAT? It is only so that they can point to it when critisized and say: Look here. Here is our fine policy. We are not a pedophile paradise.

But nothing could be farther from the Truth. Because what they say and what they actually do are are miles apart.

I really feel sorry for you Third, because you really seem to believe that the Watchtower has the best interests of its members at heart.

Your stance reminds me of Abraham Lincoln and the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a myth to this day that Abe freed the slaves because of altruism. When in fact, Abe said himself that he didn't really care anything about the slaves or their freedom. He only did what he did because he felt that it was in the best interests of his administration.
