hey all,.
there is a new msn groups website for xjws that are interested in psychic stuff, like tarot readings, astrology, numerology and the like.
it was created for those who are interested or are actively involved in the field and want to discuss and share experiences without the fear of being verbally bashed.
Moridin---Great place! Thank You!

It is so nice to have a site for those with a particular interest and who are ex-dubs as well. I really hope that it goes well.

did being a jw stifle your ambition?
did not needing to plan for the future affect your career choices and your consequent wealth?.
i'm not simply talking about following the advice to not take up an education which has been discused many times, but i'm going further to say that those brought up in "the truth" had their whole philosophy moulded and shaped in a way which never searched for more or wanted more; a non-materialistic outlook.. now some may still say materialism is evil, or that being brought up this way leads to a more content life.. the cynics, like myself, will say that keeping people 'happy but poor' is the genius of the rich.. i've had some success after leaving the org, after taking up education and so on, but it has taken time.
Well Ballistic,
I was not raised in the truth but started getting my JW education in my very early twenties. At the time when I was studying I was going to community college and doing very well in my classes. I was counseld by the sister who studied with me to forget about getting a worldly education because it would not be needed in the new system and to concentrate on getting a good education from Jehovah so that I could better serve him in the time of the end. cira 1978 It took me quite a long time to become baptised. cira 1987. The whole time I never went back to school I took menial jobs to support myself and then later, my family.I walked away for the b'org in 2001. Now I am 45 and can't find a job. Maybe it is time to go back to school!!!
a really good and unusual book im reading is a party of one--the loner's manifesto by anneli rufus.
its about loners and their place in society and their psychological fitness.
here's a bit from the back of the book:.
I am a great people person and I do enjoy the company of others every several years or so....caller ID...yep...answering machine? nope....ringer off? yep......I really like my privacy a lot.....guess I must be one of those loner types tooo...except I do like fun and friviolity on the chat and must get a daily dose. The book sounds interesting and would like to read it.

most christians have to face grave problems during these last days.
still, they try not to be distracted.
in spite of well-publicized economic problems, argentina reported a new peak of 126,709 witnesses last year.
Naughty naughty children! Finish the food on your plate and be damned thankful....there are children starving in third world countries.

Shit..... different day!!!
now that my decision to leave the organization is made, there is definitely a sense of relief.
i know i'm leaving a controlling organization, not my faith in god.
so i'm still praying at various times during the day, but it has become a very odd thing now.
I think we all have experianced what you are going through. Don't worry, something will strike a chord within you and you will know it when it happens and you will either feel comfortable to pray or not to pray. I have found that I feel most connected to god is when I am in a truely beautiful place outside. When I am there outside it doesn't matter what gods name is because I can feel that connection. I think that all humankind is connected together to god and that not being connected is an illusion that we buy into, and as long as we live and breathe we remain connected. I have gone back to my Native American roots as far as worship is concerned and I do believe in the creator of all things seen and unseen. Maybe you need to do some inward search and see what is in there. Throw away the stuff that causes pain and negativity and get down to the REAL you. Ask god to help you feel connected...in time it will be apparent to you what is best for YOU and not what others think is right for you.

accidentally found this while searching for information on one of the society's shell corporations:.
the ravine area was named after john teeter, who built a mill complex here, circa 1810. in his mill, mr. teeter was able to produce oil, flour, and grist.
in the late 1800s, some areas near the ravine were used as a rock quarry.
Very interesting Jourles but I thought it was common knowlege that the WTS bought a lot of reality for retreats and camp grounds for bethalites and their families to use..also houses to house those who are too elderly to work at bethel.
