Cross religion mariage

i have a friend who recently married a witness.

he isn't a witness, and this is causing some issues with the family.

i'm curious what is cosidered the appropriate way that the families should deal with the issue.

I nearly ended up marrying someone who is basically a JW, even though I've never been one myself. When me and my JW ex girlfriend finally split a couple of months back, she admitted to me that even if we did get married it would never work out between us, and this would have been due to her commitment to the bOrg. However, when she was going for the whole marriage push months before, she used to tell me that there were many in her congregation who's spouses weren't JWs (i.e. trying to make out that marriages between witnesses and non-witnesses work out......). I don't know if it's some kind of strategy that the WT uses to gain more ~~slaves~~ members by saying that JWs and non JWs can be happily married (and therefore having a potential convert ready to join uo), but at least what she said when we split confirmed my suspicions about how things would have gone if we did wed.

I don't know if that's what will happen to your friend, I'm only speaking from my own experience here. But, as others have said here he may find that her loyalty will always be toward the bOrg, and not him and their marriage. I hope he is willing to understand that.

Question about Governing Body

i remember flicking through my ex girlfriends copy of the "proclaimers" book back last year, and there was a page with the pictures of the gb at the time (roundabout 1992 with henschel, jaracz et al).

apart from noticing that the gb was totally comprised of males (well, with the wt's almost neanderthalitic view of women, you wouldnt expect a female contingent within the gb would you?

), i noticed that they all seemed to be white, and, judging by some of the names, probably american.

Fame Academy - BBC

well this is a programme that we would not normally watch, but.... our eldest son's best friend is on - paris - it is really strange watching him.. how sad are we - we are even watching bbc3 at 7pm, just to catch a glimpse of him, ( i am sure that the novelty will soon wear off)!!!!

oh well.... thought i would post this little piece of useless information.

I also heared that many of this year's Fame Academy "contestants" already have contracts with major labels, with the label bosses using the show as a cheap way of getting publicity (paid for by the license payer, naturally)

Now that the new series of both "Fame Academy" and "Pop Idol" are going head to head at more or less the same time on Saturday evenings, it means I can avoid the both of them like the plague with the minimum of effort.............

My question is this - are there / have there ever been any non-white or non-American (or both) GB members, and if not then why not?

there are no right or wrong answers, but think about those what-i-want-to-be-when-i-grow-up ideas you had as children and whether those dreams could have become a reality.. .

i passed the accident late last night, a dark winding road, right past the college and then a bar.

yes, i wondered as i slowed what happened, is anyone hurt?

My condolences and deepest sympathy to you all. I had a workmate that died in a car crash a couple of years ago, he was only just turned 19 at the time. It made me realise how short life is, and that you need to do your best to enjoy it and make it enjoyable for those around you.
