  we had a major snowstorm last night, to add to the week of snow we've been having off and on.

  temperatures wayyyy below freezing.. i took this photo from the living room window.

  you can barely see our steps.

  Wow, you guys are a bunch of babies (with exception of Mouthy who knows what it's like here in Canada!) I can't open my back door because it's snowed in. I had to change a flat tire last night in -30 weather, 7-8 inches of snow.

  Does The Watchtower still produce its own food?

  does anyone know if the watchtower still produces its own food, or has that been done away with?.

  at one time the watchtower was self sufficient in growing produce and raising cattle, pigs and chickens for consumption by its workers.. the watchtower even had an orange grove in florida!.

  have all these farming activities been done away with?.

  ...just kidding! They actually posted on this thread. It should be there just before Christmas, or just after Christmas. The weather here has been shit which is why it took me a bit to get out and mail it.

  The Peace Symbol- why looked down upon by JWs?

  looking at clothing in the mall my j dub wife sees a shirt with the peace symbol on it and so remarks upon it in a negative fashion.

  i need to let you know that dad passed away this morning at 8am.

  he fought so hard but in the end they could not get his blood pressure to rise and he died of heart failure.

  Do you feel embarrassed, humiliated, anger that you were a Jw?

  i ask because some posters say they felt totally humiliated, or wonder how they could have been sucked in, or some are extremely bitter and angry about their past.

  over the nearly 4 years i've come to totally accept that i was a jw, but have made my peace, and honestly can say i've forgiven, if you will, that part of my life.

  totally moved on and do not have negative feelings about it.

  I used to be embarrassed about it. Not anymore. If anything, I feel I was unfortunate to wind up in it, as it happened when I was a child. Other than that, there's not really any feelings attached to it. The only thing that makes me angry is all the lies I was told.

  Got a new Blackberry yesterday

  my company just got many of us a new blackberry curve.

  it will take me ages to understand all it can do... camera, video, email, internet, maps, contacts...sheesh..it goes on forever, not to mention the phone and instant messaging..... i keep pushing the wrong button when someone calls...so i disconnect... or get an email and think it's a phone call and try to answer it... and oh...the tiny tiny keypad!.

  i'll catch on eventually.... all i can say is that technology has come a very long way!.
