What if the Watchtower Changed .......

if the watchtower changed it's blood doctrine to one where publishers could do what their conscience dictated without fear of reprisals from the brothers, if they also quit using the two witness rule and said all criminal accusations must be reported to the police, if they stopped shunning, if they said all df and da'd could associate with their friends and family, if they apologized to ray franz and all others who were hurt by their policies; would exjws respect their dogma and refrain from putting down their religious beliefs to their faces?.

this is an important question, more important than you know.

IslandWoman, there are issues I have with the teachings of the Society that you didn't mention. There are many, many more conflicts I have such as discouraging members from getting professional help, their horrible idea that Armageddon is around the corner, the 5 meetings a week, the game of "which publisher can put in the most hours this month", Their views on sex and any sexual practices, do I need to go on??

The thing is I don't personally have a problem with the people who follow the Society's rules. They've been either lured into the religion, or they were born into it. Some may wake up and discover what's really going on, some will stay fooled forever. The Society is the root of the problem, not the average JW. The sad part is if you tell an average JW that the Society is evil, they'll automatically think that you don't believe in God.

I recall a convention quite a few years ago. It was the last day and I was sitting in that hard chair, bored as usual. Suddenly, the lights went out. The brother giving the talk said "Well, we still have sound so let's keep going". Man was I ever pissed off the sound didn't die. Someone had brought the brother a flashlight so he could look up the scriptures and see his notes. The lights finally got fixed, and they came on just in time for the closing prayer and song.

Anybody else experience technical difficulties at Kingdom Halls, Circuit and District Assemblies?

i can well remember how they tried to find a way to get rid of the facility that.

oral roberts tried to build in oklahoma.. advertisements for "the bible speaks" property ran in the wallstreet journal after they lost a bundle in a court case.. likewise, i believe an auction was advertised to get rid of ambassador college ( armstrong's plain truth).. .

Interesting you bring this up. I recall an Assembly Hall that was trying to be sold, since a new Assembly Hall / triple Kingdom Hall was built to replace it. The old one took years to sell, and I believe it was finally sold to the Baptists.

The WTS, Downsizing and Contributions.

as most of you may have gathered, the past couple of years have seen some major downsizing in wts expenditure, not just overseas but in the us and canada, including the sale of some buildings.

building projects have been shelved, some half-way completed.

every congregation around the world was instructed to upgrade kindgom halls, probably for the purposes of asset protection, as the trustees of khs are only trustees *for* the wts.

why is it that after all these years i have suddenly become aware that ,all jehovahs witnesess or those whom claim to be so called have actualy formed a judegment on the whole world of mankind , by stating that they have the only true message from god,.

what is that message and are they the only ones whom talck to the creator, ????????????.

the scriptures allways gave times and seasons when god talcked to mankind ,yet the leaders of this tinpot organization have never ever published anything stating that jehovah talcked to any given individual,as he did with mossess or other men of old,my question is do the re followers need proof that they are serving god or are they serving man ,hhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

i am really curious as to how you will answer this soj,,,,,,,and any other active jw's who post here, even read here,,,,,,,,,because when i was an active witness,,,,,,,,i was taught that reading any apostate material was wrong.

i didnt even watch a tv show that talked bad about the jw"s for fear it was an apostate program.. i know if you are caught soj, posting here,,,,,,you would not have been reinstated( you were right?

), so did you tell the elders you post here?

Why the hell does it matter so much why SOJ is posting here? The ones here who have left the truth had their own little "hidden sins", whether it be masturbation, oral sex, listening to Poison, or watching The Simpsons. Let SOJ have his own. By his description, it's not a sin. If he doesn't consider it a sin, it's not. If his conscience doesn't bother him, he's fine. I like having an opinion of someone here who's on the side of the fence I used to be on.

Last night I asked about getting reinstated...

after the meeting last night italked to some of the elders in the car park, and asked what more i neede to do to get reinstated.

they commended me on the things i've been doing (?

), and said the main point for reinstating would be how much contact i've been having with my fiance, who's still a wittness.

Okay, I have just one question for you - has your fiance agreed to fade with you? If she has, what the hell do you care about? Get married, get dfed, then reinstated, then fade.

Gadget, there is one thing that you must remember - don't put your life into anyone elses hands, not the organization, not your fiance, not anybody. You will never be able to achieve true happiness if you're always living like a slave. Live for yourself. Noone can bring you true happiness except you. I'd say stay DFed, and if your fiance truly loves you, she'll follow. If she doesn't follow, you my friend have set yourself free from a lot of grief and problems in the future. Follow the path that you choose, not the one someone else chooses for you.
