  Im ready to leave

  i just found this website and im so glad because for the first time in a long time i dont feel alone...i am a born in and in the last two years have been struggling because i thought that i was the problem and i was the reason for not feeling any love from and for the other pubs .i want to leave the org but have no idea how to tell my mother(who is a faithful jw).

  Welcome. You are not alone. One way of leaving is through a fade. My fade started accidentally. I knew I had doubts,but I had no game plan as for how to leave.

  I wound up going to a foreign language congo because a brother kept bugging me to come over. Everyone in english presumed me to be at the foreign language hall. I'd miss meeting here and there in Spanish and I'd tell them I was visiting with friends in english. Same with eh assemblies and conventions. "Oh....I'm going to english/spanish next week" etc With the language barrier people forgot about me real quick in Spanish. The english congregation just assumed I was gone for good.

  Before you know it I was out. I'd strongly suggest using the 'serving where the need is great' in a foreign language congregation as a way to fade if possible.

  A question about UAVs. ( Drones )

  i'm looking into uav certification.

  i can pilot a uav, i'm sure of that, and i think they will become a good source of employment in civilian life.

  at least everything i have read supports that idea.

  I've looked at it myself. The places I've seen are your typical Military contractors and most positions were in Southern California or the South Pacific. Boeing,Northrup Gruman, Lockheed, etc

  From what I saw Some military experience would help big time. If you're going to work for one of the private sector contractors then def having your B.S. will probably be required. If not I'd say a license of some sort. FAA Commercial, A&P, or Dispatch with some experience a Major more than likely. The dispatch being the cheapest.

  How much damage has internet done against the The Watchtower Society ?

  in the beginning of internet the society was worried about the information published exposing its falsehood.

  so, i wonder how many people lost the society on account of forums and web sites like this.

  This site helped speed up my fade, as well as answered questions and doubts I had.

  When I found this site waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back around 2001 or so I could have sworn it was pro-jw or leaned that way. I had peaked around that time and was somewhat reaching out in the hall. For the most part I had begun a slow trend of half assing it. Summer 2001 was the first summer I intentionally drove around Houston all day and missed the convention.

  When I found this site I noticed people openly verbalizing questions and thoughts I had in my mind. Despite that I left the site for a while again thinking it's a trap from Satan ! Around 2005 or so I found myself back again peeking around and my fade began gradual and steady decline. I was doing alot free help with the RBC down here in the Houston area for Tropical Storm Allison in 2001 and then Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. I rememeber after all that work it was close to around that time that you needed to be 'approved' to do free work. This site exposing what a sham the RBC was was not lost on me.

  Realizing I wasn't the only brother jumping through hoops to be a MS, realizing that 10 hours at that time was the unspoken time needed. My elder telling me..."Just try to make 10 hours" ( despite my throwing myself into everything and being qualified.) Having two close friends tell me two things about Bethel :

  1. The first friend "Bethel is different. It's not for everyone." And woukld never say anything but that.

  2. The second friend telling me how much they drank at Bethel,stayed drunk and how many sisters he had smashed.

  I got baptized as a 'worldly' person. I thought everyone was on the up and up. This site opened my eyes up ALOT.

  Are Jehovah's Witnesses Christian or Cult, Do JWs Offer Solutions for Local and Global Problems of life?

  the awake on "hope for the homelessness" was one of the worse illustrations how the cult has no love for anyone that can't provide donations to further this spiritual ponzi scheme!

  the premise of this awake made no sense, i've read many books and took classes on social issues affecting mankind, the awake does not help fix the problem.

  what did this magazine offer those who are suffering the humiliation of living out of their cars or "tent city" or under a bridge?

  They say they're not a cult.

  In their words...everyone has free will given to them by Je-hober. Free to exercise it at ANY time.

  BUT.....read the fine print. May be excercised at anytime except in regards to one's personal feelings or opinions of the 'truth.' At that point the cult rules,regulations and bylaws come into full play and you need to adjust your 'thinking'.

  Naaaah. That's not like a cult.

  I won't give him credit for helping me meet my fiance who I proposed to two weeks ago. Every JW sister he ever lead me to was so full of themselves and basically blew me off.

  I guess I'll give him credit for the last 11 years of Boston Sports.

  Three New England Patriots Super Bowl titles, with 5 appearances.

  A Boston Celtics title, with two Finals appearances.

  A Bruins title, and last but not least, the miracle of miracles.............. the 2004 ALCS against the STANKEES with an improbable comeback to go on and win the World Series that year. Along with another title to boot in 2007.

  Yeah...he came though in sports the last ten years.

  Did guilt force you into relationships with negative or selfish people?

  how much force did guilt play into your relationships with other witnesses?

  we wasted so much of our lives chasing things that are not real, love that was highly conditional and relationships with people that evaporated once we started to fade away.. .

  i would force myself to talking with nutty brothers who seemed to be "short their rent each month, never able to catch up".

  Sorry to hear about the bad relationships Believe.

  I think the WT forces many to get into and ( not saying you ) settle in some cases with people they're just not compatible with.

  Mostly because you're not allowed to look outside religion.

  i think alot of JW get with people they shouldn't because they truly are lonely.

  But when they look around the JW landscape...who's out there ?

  my elder buddy and i would frequent strip clubs when we wanted to.. a few friends knew i enjoyed clubbing and music concerts and i seldom ever spoke of my private social life to others.. i know many jws, including elders, that drank excessively but that wasn't considered too big a deal..

  This was while I was in.

  I wasn't raised a witness. I was still 2-3 years in at the time.

  And I would sweat bullets worrying that I'd get caught.

  About a year or so after high school I still lived at home.

  My mom worked nights and pretty much never got home until about 730-8. She usually went in at at 9-930pm.

  When I first moved here we lived in a small area that all together has about 35-40k people. Everybody knows you and your business.

  Well after my mom would go to work,I'd get in the car and make the 57-mile one way drive to the big city of Houston -Hahahahahaha-and go to the 24/7 whatever porn shop was open.

  I had bulit quite a VHS collection that required me to constantly move it around to various 'stash' areas around the house. I even put tapes in my briefcase ( she'd never look there ) and porn mags behind my KH Ministry and Watchtowers/Awakes in my briefcase. One day I left the hall and forgot my briefcase which contained a copy of Legs and Juggs,lol Well I hit a U-turn and FLEW back to the hall. I couldn't remember if I locked it or not.

  Sure enough my PO found it and goes, " We tried to open it to see who it belonged to, but it was locked."

  I guess Jehovah answered my prayer.....?

  I was still a virgin in my early 20's and since I wasn't close to seeing any nookie, porn was like crack for me,lol

  Being a single guy with natural physical inclinations that you're told to fight, is hell in the 'truth' hahahahaha

  I gave up after two years of studying at Boston College because of JACKASSES like this guy.

  Excuse me if I'm a tad BITTER still at 35.

  I've been lucky to find a great job,but I could probably do more with a degree.

  What a bunch of horseS^$#^&. If they would bother to crack open a degree plan they'd see you'll probably take a history course or two. If they DID take a social or behavioral science course they could probably take a sociology course like I did. very interesting course and really enjoyed it.

  It's funny to see 15,16,17 years after my high school days they're still parroting that philosophy nonsense.
