Do You Still Act Like A Jehovah's Witness?

i'm not very far removed, any longer from how i presented myself as a witness, and how i do today.

i'm usually polite, cordial, respectful of others, even those who i may have very little regard for or those who on a regular basis, piss me off.

i work very hard not to use foul language.

No really per say. I was always nice..got along with alot of people and everyone before becoming a witness. I remember the brothers and sisters would ask if i had grown up in the thruth ( I had not ) and then comment that I was so well-mannered.. Well isn't that everyone should be ???? If there's anything I've done is n about three occasion I've called a few co-workers Brother/sister...just came right out...and of course I got the craziest of looks,lol !!!!!

I agree with most here. JW's aren't nice and caring as they think. After hearing the comments here, I've begun to realize that yes most are arrogant and it wasn't just my over analyzing things. The only reason I feel I had the group of friends I did was because I was reg pioneer.If you didn't have a "title" you weren't anybody .I remember in service people would talk badly about those who weren't. I noticed in sentence they would say they were inactive,not progressing, or whatever. But no one made the effort to encourage the person. It was like you had the plague.

Don't mean to go off topi,but boy....I've had some pent up feelings and thoughts

i joined this site back in 2002....but haven't been on in about that long.

i'm a single guy, 30,tall 6'2" single never married, no kids, great job and no "issuses" to speak of,but you'd never know from the rejection i've gotten from sister after sister.

my history....baptized, 97, pioneered 2 years.

My history....Baptized, 97, pioneered 2 years. Had foot surgery recently..actually two, and haven't been to a meeting since July 2006. Not a single call from ANYONE !!!!!! I was new to the congregation ( foreign language to make matters worse ) as I was "invited" to help out,but I feel as if I could be DEAD....and not single person has called.Been battling with feelings for quite a while. I work for a major airline...but have turned down countless chances to travel around the world with co-workers because of meetings. Never been in trouble,but see people doing things I find blatant..yet nothing done.I'm ready to date...to travel with someone, catch a movie or have dinner, without needing to pass the MS/ELDER and prettyboy do no wrong Bethelite litmus test. If there's anyone in Texas feel free to contact me. Hell if you're not from Texas contact me. I have plenty of friends at work...But found this site and Hoping to meet people on here who know what I'm going through,

JWS NOT FREE TO FALL IN LOVE

you know how the society pushes every one to do more, and more, and more....and those who don't do more without a super valid reason (like you're in a coma), are considered not "spiritual", right?

ok, they also tell single brothers and sisters who are pioneers or bethelites that they should only consider marrying those with the same spiritual goals....in other words....choose some one who "loves" jehovah just as much, meaning one who preaches 120 hours a month or works in bethel,etc.....right?

....well i think it is so unfair.. it's already bad enough that we cannot look at another human being from the opposite sex because they are not witnesses (never mind that they are excellent human beings, ones that would ashame many jws)....we also have to keep from falling in love with a pioneer or bethelite (if you are not one, because he or she will not give you the time of day) or from falling in love with a mere publisher ( if you are a pioneer , because the elders will suggest to let it go, and they will try and try until you give it up)( i've witnessed a huge case...that ended in a bethelite and a pioneer dying, litterally) isn't that appaling?

I have. I have a great job, I'm outgoing and friendly with everyone I meet.I feel I have alot to offer, Yet since I'm not a poster boy of a Bethelite or Jesus Jr himself, I have never gotten the time of day. I never got in any trouble ,but I wasn't exactly in Service everyday all day ( as I do have to live, eat and have a roof to sleep under too and no elder is going to work for me ) Yes I have personally experieneced this and she is now living somewhere in Mississippi with this bethelite unhappy. Anyhow it's a bunch of BS and I've passed up many great people. I kick myself alot sometime.

LDH and Reborn...been there..I'm 25 now..I didn't grow up in the truth..and was considered "good" by most. All the JW girls considered me a friend and found myself alone with some sisters a few times...mainly because I think some thought I wouldn't try anything....and I wouldn't have....but if they'd offered.....I was game

I know what you mean Reborn on the dating...my mom was constantly on my ASS about talking to sisters...brothers giving me the up and down look for ONLY saying hi to their daughter.

Thus I never got the hint when a ceratain sister would call me constantly. I talk a bit but find a reason to hang up..SINCE according to the society..there was no good reason two people of the opposite sex should spend considerable time talking. ......this was my mom's biggest thing "you need to watch how much you talk to such and such"..."don't you think you're calling such and such so much ? " Like Reborn.....WHEN exactly do you get to know what this person is about ?

Romance status

just curious as to who is single and who is not on this board.i have been with my boyfriend going on 3 years now.

we just moved in together in feb.for the most part we get along great but he has some weird habits.he also thinks i spend too much time on this site(which i do...but heck i finally belong!!

)so its hard to relate to him on the subject.he thinks i should just forget about it.sometimes i think i might be better off with someone who has more or less been where i have.

Single here. No girlfirends in the WT but had plenty of offers from the world which I turned down..and some I regret.Lost the big V just about a year ago and been sitting the bench since. Basically in social limbo now since many women I meet can't figure out why a 25 YEAR OLD MAN has just starting to decide who to date for himself.

Hmmm always looking for an email friend and see where things go from there. I work for an airline ,so anytime and anyplace if someone wants to hook up for an outing one day. I've been spending alot of time trying to see the country and world and do what I like to do or want to do for a change.

Never had a chaperone because I never had a gf in the truth.....another day another show... Anyhow I have been the GOOBER as I like to put it on that date. I mean rolling around in Elder fill-in-the-blank's Nissan Quest in the back seat, was not fun.

...Really you can't exactly get your mack on,enjoy your date, have a WHOLESOME time with your boy slurping down a few cokes and burgers.

I did fly out to California to meet a sis, and a brother whose wife works at the same airline as I do agreed to come along. Great. He not only went on to ruin everything he had the nerve to tell the sister that we...yes WE not ME needs her elders home number,KH number and the name of her congregation. I was like never again. This brother became like the second crack on my ..well you know where.....I saw his face more that weekend than her's...She was like does he always speak for you like this ? And he who is married was only two years older than me..not like he was a older more mature guy than me.I was so pissed I could have left him right there in San Fransico.

And oh...she never called or wrote again when I returned. Hmmmm now why could that be ???

Bethelites....a real catch ?

ok everyone i'm pretty new here and here's my two cents... one thing i could not figure out was...what was the craze with bethelites ?

as a reg pioneer supposedly i was a lock for local sis..but from my point of view sisters practically fell over themselves trying to get a piece of these guys.. myself i was never one to let anyone go unoticed.. i was equal opprotunity..especially for the spanish sis's in the spanish cong..speaking of which have any of you guys ever been to one of the spanish conventions ?

i had to pick my tongue off the ground several times..hehehe.

JT...so well said. Yes it is looked upon as the Harvard or Yale or JW's. This fact would sear in my mind being that we ..unlike the "world" HA ....have no class distinctions or prostige for that matter.
