There is a portion of American society that needs and wants attention in the worst way.
I give you: Jersey Shore. Hey,no offense to the fans of the show, but who are these people ? Why are they famous and what have they contributed to the world or american society ?
I never post my status because who gives sh^% what I'm doing, ate, saw,or whatever.
I think your real friends will know how you're doing and whats going on in your life, without you having to make it a frontpage announcement on a social website. Otherwise personally,I don't feel like I need to 'brag' about whatever is going on in my life.
In my opinion to do it throughout the day,or incessantly,is time consuming. Who has time to be on FB that much ?
I am amazed at one of my friends, who posted FROM work, that they're bored. Nice way to give your employer a reason to jettison you. Especially in the current economic climate.

Oh...I have one 'friend' 'Jason' who NEVER responds to my posts directly. No matter what I say whether it's on my wall,or in response to something he has commented about or posted. He 'likes' my comments.
Never just comes out and responds to me directly. His dad was sick recently. Everybody, including myself said 'hope he gets better' ,etc
He responded to everybody with a thanks, but 'liked' my comment. I don't want to cause a scene, but I'm close to just posting ...hey...you can respond or talk to me directly you know.
I just notice petty stuff like that. If I'm somebody you can't talk to...why'd you request my friendship ? His brother 'Bob' and I were best friends at one time. His brother 'Bob' is an MS and when we talk he's always asking if if did something the reason I haven't come back to meetings.
I think he uses my page as a way to keep his brother 'Bob' update on what I do and who my friends are. At one time his brother 'Bob' commented on something I had on my FB page. When I asked how he knew,he quickly told me 'jason' saw it on your FB page.
Ok.

Undercover you are so right man.
I have a friend is TRUE BLUE dub. She is a regular pioneer and half of her pics are from the meetings, and her post consists of "Going out in early morning,Yipee !!!" , or one she posted the other day, "had a study today and she had more questions for me." I'm so excited !" I wish i could post some of those comments but it would blow the fact thst I no longer attend with most of the dub Friends I have. I actually like them, but wish they would open their eyes. They are all as about liberal as you can get for dubs IMO.
My one friend..well he's like the other dub you described. We were regular pioneers together. He actually went to Bethel. After leaving there,he got his BS from a local university. From the school of science of all schools. Don't you learn evolution and all that stuff in the school off science ? lol Last I heard when I saw his sis at an assembly about 2 years ago,he was still attending. We have some the same DUB FB friends,he has some that have deleted me and that I know are hardcore and they still talk.
He takes part in local bike riding events, triathalons, etc weekly it seems. On some Sunday mornings he seems to ride every week and posts of it. ( I know he could have a afternoon meeting ) he posts things from work, he works with Marine wildlife. Nothing on his page gives an indication to being a DUB. He was like this when we were teens. I always want to send a message and ask if he stills attends, but if he does I hate to sour things between us. I always thought he was pretty independent and thought for himself. But yeah...he's def not a walking billboard for JW's as some people I see on FB.

I earned just over 50 credits at Boston College, and then trashed it to regular pioneer.
Winning !!!!! NOT.
I just turned 34,love my job and I'm attending a local uiniversity to try to finish what I started. I will admit Everytime I meet a witness with a degree I get pissed. Not at them, but more at the fact that I let people talk me out of it and did what others suggested rather than THINK for myself and be my own person.
A friend from Bethel is what got me to go back. Added him to my facebook page and noticed he had got his B.A. . Being that he went to bethel I just thought that was huge, because back in the mid 90's when I was in HS it was the old "Why would you invest four years in Satans system ?" line. And if you went to Bethel...then surely you didn't go to a four year school. Where is your faith in Jehovah to provide ?
Here we are....16 damn years later.

Sometimes You Just Gotta Score One For the Cult Members
by PublishingCult ini really don't care much for jw's at my door, or at anyone's door.
this chauvinistic, fanatical bully-a-hole, however, is one of the worst examples of a christian i have ever seen.
the jw's handled themselves very well in the face of this ridiculous bullying and taunting by this so-called christian attempting to school the jw's about god and the bible.

I know this is off the subject, but judging from the model of that car and color I thought it was an CO for an second.
I thought the guy was out of line saying the lady had short hair like a man. WTF ? Off the subject and just being spitefull. Not to mention she is an older lady. Have some respect, even if you don't want them on your property. If that were my wife.....the congregation would be learning of my being locked up. Total disrespect to another mans wife. At least thats how I saw it. Then how does he not know she wasn't a cancer survivor or something? That part was out of line.
But I've been in that position. He wasn't really yelling, but he wasn't giving too much time to respond either.
I had a guy escort me off his property with a loaded shotgun. Of COURSE I saw the NO TRESPASSING sign on the way out....but not on the way in. Duuuuur ! In Massachusetts I didn't have to worry about that too much. But people in Texas carry guns like they carry wallets.

Darth Frosty...Hahahahaha that was funny.
I remember a Chris Rock line two years ago where he said Bin Laden was the Micheal Jordan of hide and go seek.

The timing of this isn't any worse than Bush pulling Saddam Hussien...Alive and on trial out of his a^% before the 2004 election.
Now that was good timing.
The irony of all this.......
8 years ago today G.W. Bush stood on an aircraft carrier and declared Mission Accomplished.

Regular pioneer. I hated it. I did it because my congregation was one of those that had a 'good' reputation, and well.....I just couldn't sit on the sidelines now could I ?
At least 7-8 brothers out of like 10 of us went off to Bethel. I knew thats not what I wanted to do. I went to the Gilead meeting at an DC and thankfully I had a medical condition ( diabetes ) and they said right off the bat, that would probably disqualify me.
Pioneering sucked. I had no car,no job. I was in college full-time and milked that as much as I could, saying I had classes, exams,BS,etc I realized that most of the people I knew wouldn't give a rats aS$ about me if I weren't a pioneer. I did it to fit in and get people off my back about regular pioneering or going to Bethel. When people said lets work some more territory I secretly cursed them under my breath. This is back when it was 90 hours and we were doing 100 like a bunch of dummies, mainly to impress people. I was getting up at 5am starting at 6 and working until 12/1pm,then going to class on some days. Man I was TIRED. I envied my friends who did have full-time or part-time jobs. But as soon as I could I loaded up on 16/17 credit hours a semester. I HATED having to be the first one to meet the group.....and then usually lead out the group. I liked regulars because they stuck with their partners. Got your own territory ? Good, get the hell out of here. Got your own car group ? Sweet,be gone. I wanted to come in late. Sit in the back and let some other brother do the text and ask all the questions.
To be honest, I was looking foward to pioneer school because supposedly there were always some pretty good looking 'chicks' there. Boy I really get a chuckle out of what I thought back then. It's beyond crazy and stupid. The longest two weeks of my life. I got tired of people asking me
"Oooooh you went to pioneer school ?" "Wow, tell me all about !" Even though I was a pioneer it was never as big a deal to me as some others made it out to be. I did because I felt I had to. Not too mention all the brothers and sisters stopped bugging me about when I was going to put my Bethel application in. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........Never ?
When I came off the list it was like what the hell ? What did you do ? Like had you had to do something bad in order to come off.
I did everything I could. Though I never got to be MS, I read at the bookstudy from time to time ( I was being groomed, but moved right before I think they were going to appoint me. At least this what a former elder told me after I moved ) I did magazine and book room. I worked the mics. Aisle and stage. The ABSOLUTE WORST thing I did was assist the school overseer. On Monday nights before the school I had a copy of the TMS schedule just like him. I would hand out the slips every week and all. Anyhow, I had to call everyone on the schedule and ask if they were giving their talk the next night. I HATED that. you could tell most were busy and YES, they were going to do it,so leave them alone. I hated when brothers back out because if I were able to give it........I wound up doing the talk. Except I hadn't studied or read any of the material myself, so I usually pulled the talk out of my a%$ in the bathroom a few minutes before.
