  Only Jehovah's Witnesses

  i'm just new to this internet stuff and am studying with the jehovah's witnesses at present.please don't take my lack of knowledge as cheek.

  i just want to know if it's meant to be only jehovah's witnesses using this site.

  i fully intend to become baptised but was wondering if there's any security to prevent people who shouldn't be using the site and are maybe abusing it from doing so.

  i apologise for upsetting most of you by logging onto this site.

  i stumbled onto it by accident and stupidly never noticed that it said discussion forum, everyone welcome.

  i just thought it was a site where witnesses discussed subjects, and did not expect such a negative response to my naivety.

  Yvonne sweetie - you don't have *anything* to apologise for! When you saw it said "Everyone welcome!" that's because it's TRUE - everyone is! You don't have to be an exJW, or current JW, or even a Christian to post here. You can lurk, you can post a little, or you can post a lot. Everyone *is* welcome!
  
  I'm sorry you thought the responses were negative - but I'm glad you read them. Adding up the years there are centuries of people's experiences here, and unfortunately many people's experiences in the JWs *were* negative. And those negative experiences all seem to have the same themes...
  
  Do continue to pop back. Ask us things. Many of us have been where you are now.

  Jesus, his life, his teachings, and his death, are surely very important to you - please think very carefully if Jesus needs someone between you and him - if that's what he wants? Is it what other Christians teach? Why not?
  
  I wasn't lying to you in my post - what reason would I have to? I don't know you, I can't change what you think, and I can't stop you attending meetings. You don't *care* what I think. I just haven't found a JW who knows the teaching until I show them in their publications... so I thought I ought to make you aware what you'd be giving up.
  
  
  
  
  
  For instance in one responce to this very post someone(glitter) accused Witnesses of believing that Jesus is not the mediator between man and God.This is a lie!!!!!
  
  It's not a lie. You could have looked it up on your WT CD, or clicked on the link I gave and checked against your own books and magazines... but oops: "BTW,I'm not a Witness either." so you can't - and how can you know exactly *what* it is they teach? You can still phone up Brooklyn Bethel, or any regional HQ, though and ask them. But you won't.

  All Witnesses know very well that Jesus is the direct moderator between mankind and God.That is why you must ask for things and pray to the father in Jesus' name.Witnesses know this very well.Always have.
  
  Sort of correct - though it's not true, I'm not wrong. It's what many or most Jehovah's Witnesses think. It's what most of them assume - because it's what the Bible teaches. But not what the Watchtower teaches. I have asked *Elders* "Who is your Mediator?" and they have given the "wrong" answer... it's the *right* answer of course, but the WT teaches something which is a lie.
  
  Oh, and *I* left for conscience reasons when I found out how disgusting their policy on paedophiles is. Before or after I have done NOTHING I could have been disfellowshipped for. Except post here and believe the truth about The Truth.

  I hope Hillary is OK - I think she'll be a fine president. If she is ever up against Condoleeza Rice, it would be *very* interesting. OK, a woman PM wasn't so great for the UK (party round mine when the day comes!), but there's no reason Hillary or Condi shouldn't have their finger on The Button next (oo err!).

  Ask yourself, and consult your Bible - who is your Mediator between you and Jehovah?
  
  Your heart and your Bible will tell you it is Jesus:
  
  1st Timothy 2:5: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

  Yvonne - I am glad you have stayed around. We are mostly a lovely bunch here, and much of what we talk about is nothing to do with JWs - lots of fluff! :) It's a nice place to be to talk about lots of things without having to be on several boards - so please stick around.

  i remember coming home from a meeting one evening in a spiritually heightened mood and seeing all these lights dancing around in the sky.

  One year we were at the beach and as we were going back to the caravan, the sky was dark but the sunset was still showing and it was *blood red* - the deepest red sunset I've ever seen, interspersed with rolling black clouds - looked very odd. Mum said she thought it was Armageddon. I was scared that she said that. We went back into the caravan and mum seemed to immediately forget all about it - we got ready for bed and played dominoes. :)

  A neighbour of ours when I was a kid had escaped from him. I told my mum, she was like "Well if he gets through the questions, that's different." ?!?!
  
  IIRC the Yorkshire Ripper is on a list of those who will NEVER be released, like Harold Shipman was before he topped himself, and Ian Brady and Rose West are. He can join as many cults as he likes.
  
  Would be good if some more serial killers joined up, all bad publicity is good. Might have to phone up Bethel and be irate.
