Steeeaaaaadfaaaast we all need to be
Faaaaarrr from this world we keep free
As we (something) God's truuuuth and (something) et-er-na-teeeeee.
Did anyone ever try to sing the song from the opposite page in the tune of the current song to relieve the sheer boredom?
I hated those songs that only took up half a page, had four verses, no chorus, no hook and no discernable tune. Seeing how short they were used to be a relief, until we starting singing.... :(
Worst than Sister Opera was Brother Monotone who always used to be behind me. Embarrassing.

It was '97 and we were doing the dark blue Family Life book (or the grey Family Life book... whichever is the newer one... I think there are 3 editions of it that we have). I can't remember what the chapter was about, but I flipped ahead and saw that next week's study would be about sexual immorality including *bestiality*. I looked around the room and saw five children including myself (I was 15) and though no WAY is it appropriate for us to be expected to study the chapter and *answer up*.
I already was ill with my M.E. then, so I just played on it and cried off sick the next week - mum stayed home to look after me, and I don't think she went many times after that at all (inactive but still 110% dub mindset). I was so furious and embarrassed that they considered that something to discuss with children present.
I went to the Memorial that year, 1998 and 1999, then that was it. -

How long since you been out in service?
by freedom96 init must be about 13 years since i went out in service.
about 15 years since i went out a couple times a month, and about 18 years since i went at least once a week.. i just can't imagine going from door to door anymore.
but to think that we all did it for quite awhile.

Between about 1994 and 1996 - there was a brochure or tract that "everyone had to recieve" so everyone was meant to go and offer it. I thought it was a last push to get the truth out before Armageddon.

Only Jehovah's Witnesses
by Yvonne A ini'm just new to this internet stuff and am studying with the jehovah's witnesses at present.please don't take my lack of knowledge as cheek.
i just want to know if it's meant to be only jehovah's witnesses using this site.
i fully intend to become baptised but was wondering if there's any security to prevent people who shouldn't be using the site and are maybe abusing it from doing so.

I remember when that WT came out and we studied it. I can't tell you how let down and disappointed I was.
I didn't have a clue that this was the case when I was a JW. I'd like to believe it would have set alarm bells ringing - it did when I read it on the Quotes site and checked it in the literature. Like I didn't realise the Faithful and Discreet Slave was actually *people* until I was about 13/14 when I was at the meeting when the Sheep and Goats change came out... that struck me as wrong - both that people were telling us what God said and also that they *changed* something. But I suppose I forgot about it or just reasoned to myself that it *must* be true over the next few meetings. -

Again; why don't you argue against the articles - since you were so set on the knowledge that they were wrong when it was first pointed out.
You have changed your point of view completely. Why?
Odrade - has it be! Look at the last two letters of his IP - lol! -

The Princess Bride is one of the greatest films ever quote-wise. Too many to pick from for me - but I love that bit where Westley is on the Princess's bed and he's explained "To the pain" to Humperdinck:
Westley: It's conceivable, you miserable, vomitous mass, that I'm only lying here because I lack the strength to stand. But, then again... perhaps I have the strength after all.
Westley stands, even though he's only just stopped being almost dead, and points is sword at the Prince.
Westley: DROP... YOUR... SWORD!
Humperdinck's sword clatters to the floor.
Ohhhh Westley is so dreamy!! -

"He's never liked me and now he wants to shoot my mum!" Shaun from Shaun of the Dead - Shaun's really emotional and it's sad, but it just cracks me up. Marvelous film.
