27growing up scared of Armageddon
by bittersweet ini was just curious if any of you growing up in the truth were overly scared of armageddon?.
when my mom came into the org.
in the 70's,the only so called kids book was the paradise lost book.the pictures in that book scared the pants off me!at night when i was lying in bed,if i would hear a loud plane go over head,or there was a thunder storm,i was sure it was the start of armageddon and i would be sooooo scared.i was wondering if i was the only one overly scared,or if their were others.. also,was anyone out there extremely frightened of the demons?i would hear all these crazy experiences of people having problems with demons,and i was sooo frightened they would come bother me.maybe i was just a big old scaredycat,but if any one else has any experiences,please post them!

How to help a friend?

but i thought that this subject was important enough to start a topic and i hope some of you will be able to give me some good advice.. to set the scene: a very close friend of mine is a nurse training to be an anaesthetist.
he recently had a jw call on him and he'd invited him in and they'd discussed the blood issue.

I understand your concern about what could likely happen to you personally. You definitely could/would be df'd if you are found out. But at the same time, you don't want to see him get reeled into the cult. I suggest telling him that you understand his curiosity and wanting to go to a meeting to check it out, but that before he does that or before he allows anyone else to come to his home that he should do some research into the JW's and Ray Franz book is a definite must, and perhaps Barbara Anderson's story, amongst others who have first-hand knowledge of the inner workings of the headquarters and policies and decision makers. I've come to realize that the need to help others may very likely put us directly in the line of fire, and we must decide what is most important to us, possibly being found out or helping protect our friends. WT holds no power over me at all, I wanted to be df'd and have that name removed from me forever.

the poster will be big, bold and easy to read.
everywhere the van goes, people in traffic will be able to see it.

That is awesome! I've tried to get even just the little lamb logo, but I guess I haven't figured out how yet. Would you please explain where you got it, how you downloaded it and from what page on silentlambs? I've been looking and looking!
What I have done is put flyers on my side windows with the silentlambs web address, plus I have two stuff lambs displayed in my car. I've seen lots of people reading and looking. I've been distributing the flyers everywhere I go. But, how do we download what you found?

I can really relate to this one. My dad used to talk about how he fully expected that witnesses would all be put in concentration camp type places, prisons etc, supposedly as Jehovah's way of "protecting his people when A..strikes". I grew up really terrified of Armageddon personally, with all the mucky muck my dad used to talk about. Plus he'd make us read those year books with all those horror stories of people getting sticks shoved up their fingernails etc, all the situations in Malawi, etc. So, Yeah I grew up really afraid. I still haven't figured out how to view world events as they come, because of all the crap I was taught while growing up, third generation.
Big Tex.............wow...That's how I felt when I got my divorce from that sonofa....B. I divorced him with the firm belief that if God was going to hate me for divorcing my abusive husband, then I didn't need this kind of God and I'd be happier destroyed at A, then to live forever under this kind of ruler. I'm so anxious to meet up with you and your wife sometime soon, hopefully before my wedding! LOL

Dubs showed up at Dallas press conference

it was me,valis, my roommate, country girl, and 3others from oklahoma.. we had 2 reports show.
one was a talk radio station, and another was from a tv station---no camera though.. the reporter from channel 8 is wanting us to do a documentary type thing.

The articles were in Both the New York Times AND Newsweek. I don't see that anything was changed or edited, but both papers had articles. I can't tell you how good this feels inside to be doing all this! Silentlambs...ROAR!!!!! LOL
