First, I'd like to thank everyone here that has befriended me for your kindness and support. Having you to talk to after leaving the org made the shunning of everyone I ever knew and family much more bearable. I initially came here for emotional support due to shunning and also to have questions regarding doctrine answered, which has been accomplished. I thank you all for that, it was very appreciated. It's time for me to leave and move on with my life, and you have all helped me tremendously to be able to do this. Thank you, good luck and goodbye.

I used to live up there, but I'm in Texas now. I used to go to the Palatine Cong and also Burbank. I lived there for a long time, and am thrilled that I'm NOT there anymore. Hated the winters...ugh. Welcome to the forum!

Meetings in hiding places
by JH inif one day the government would put an end to jw meetings, how do you think the watchtower would get organized to keep meetings going?
they told us that meetings would be held in houses or in secret places.
i dont know of any house big enough to accommodate 80+ people.

My dad used to say that there would likely be very small, less than ten, in a gathering and that they would either not bring any literature or would hide it. I've heard about them maybe bringing their literature in a gift wrapped package making it appear to be a wedding party, etc.

Few questions
by Happy ini recently "applied" for an account at jehovah's witnesses on the web, that msn group.
but of course they have a bunch of questions so that they are not troubled by evil apostates.
i have no intention of causing trouble, but i would like to lurk around, just to keep up to date.

LOL Happy, I saw that same group one day while searching. The questions were so tedious, but they're definitely trying to keep apostates out, LOL I'll see what I can find for ya. I have an msn group, but it's basically for those who've left the org or are at least considering it.

Jes, I'm really happy to hear that he's offering to help you. We both know how he can be at times, personality wise, but I'm glad he's wanting and offering to help you. I understand too how difficult it is for you to trust, when you've been left out on the lurch so many times and having to just do for yourself. Believe me, I understand that all too well. Hand in there girl, it's gonna be ok. This lawyer I've told you about in email is a no nonsense type guy, and he don't play games with people. He knows the law through and through, so you can trust he'll do right by you and do what's best for Jesse. It's gonna be ok. Hugs....See ya tomorrow at 2:00! LOL

Help !! How can I stop my stepson stealing
by kelpie inwe have noticed more and more that our middle son is stealing.
it was just little things before.
but the other day we found a $50 note in their room.

Hi Kelpie, sorry to hear you're going through this. I have six children, so believe me I understand, but that's not to say I'm an expert, by no means. I agree with the combination of the other suggestions. Kids have a short memory, and doing just one of the suggestions will only stick for a little while. Since you said you've noticed that this has been going on for awhile, or you've noticed it happening more and more, I'd suggest doing several of the suggestions, and not just all at one time. I think a good scare from the cops handcuffing him and even putting him in the police car etc and "grilling" him (by a nice, understanding cop wanting to help) would help. With your son being only eight years old, something like this might stick alot longer than if he's 12-13 and up. Once they get into Middle School/Junior High, then you really notice a big change almost over night. So the sooner you get on this the better. Maybe the cop can find out where your son is getting these ideas, if friends are gloating over doing this same thing and he's trying to fit in, etc. Which would help you to know who his friends are and maybe have to monitor those closely. Good luck to you!

Help the Elders are after me!!!!!!!!
by auntiem inokay, an elder just showed up at my doorstep and he was wearing sweat suit and sweat pants and he was alone.
whats up with that?
is this a new tactic to get me to talk?
-
Lin
Since you said you are there alone, I would not even open the door. I've heard of cases where an elder/elders appeared at a single woman's home and when she attempted to close the door, one elder stuck his foot in the door and pushed open the door and came in anyway. They intimidated her and pressed their way in and she got scared and they only left when they had finished their long speech and told her she was df'd.
DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR. If Possible, do not be home when they plan to come. DO NOT ANSWER YOUR PHONE. Use Caller ID and screen your calls.
If you give them a window of opportunity, they will take it and then some. Good luck!
