should we pray to jesus?
by Cordelia ini'm meeting with my dad tomorrow (prob for the last time) and i have been asking him different questions and one he has tried to answer is about praying to jesus, (as i brought up that at acts 7 stephen clearly did) id like to tell you what hes printed out for me as he wants a response tomorrow,.
basiclly its all the same old :the scrips say jesus is the mediator we go to god through jesus (john-14:16, 1 tim-2:5,6).
in answering why stephen said 'lord jesus recieve my spirit' the wt says that god had caused stephen to see a heavenly vision (acts-7:54-59) he beheld the heavens open and saw jesus standing at gods right hand' so seeing jesus in vision stephen felt free to direct his request to him as the head of the cong, .

Isaiah 44"24 I,the Lord am the maker of all things,streching out the heavens by myself,and spreading out the earth all alone. clearly ,this verse makes it impossible to argue that christ was created first by jehovah and then jehovah created all other things thru christ, the fact that jehovah is the maker of all things who stretched out the heavons by myself and spread out the earth all alone and the accompanying fact that christ is the creator of all things john 1v 3 proves that christ is god almighty just as god as the father is. When you read gen chapter 1 its all about Gods creation of the world. When you read John chapter 1 (not the NWT) it says Jesus is the word and the word was God . Verse 3 says all things were made by him;and without him was not any thing made that was made. If you read in Acts chapter 5 there is the account of Ananias and his wife Sapphira in verse 3 Peter said Ananias why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, The third member of the trinity. Matt 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you.all matter of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men:but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men. Does that sound like an active Force?

Pray to Jesus to God or Both? (Not Just Yet Another Trinity Thread...)
by adelmaal ini just read another post that touched upon praying directly to jesus and it reminded me of the other day at church.
i don't know if it's just my jw roots or what but one of the men who said the prayer in church prayed directly to jesus.
he kept using jesus' name in prayer speaking directly to him on our behalf, he brought out that no other name is higher than that of jesus and when he closed he did so in the name of jesus.

You can pray to God the father ,Jesus the son, holy Ghost . I like to talk to Jesus myself. Interesting is in Mark 3:29 says But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath no forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

Thinking about Matt 4:21......
by jula71 ini was sitting and thinking of what to write in a da letter, as i've been inspired in a way by a letter i read today.
and one thought i am putting in, is that i have a clean, clear conscience because i believe a loving and understanding god would know that i choose this path due to honest and sincere feelings about the organization.
and i believe a loving god would not destroy a person based on that.

This is referring to Leaders of churches or anyone who teaches scripture falsely against the laws of God . Like deliberate misleading people like some on television or GB with false prophecies . I remember years ago a Pastor was selling insurance policies to heaven for 500 dollars on Television and I saw all these people going forward to buy them. It is some one like him that the Lord will say i never knew you. Hope this is helpful for you.
