since i was a believer from the earliest of my memories, i spent my formative academic years not thinking or caring much about my future.

although 1975 (armageddon / the end of the world / jehovah's judgment) was still a year away, as a naive, dumbass teenager it was looming very large on my radar screen.

besides *that*, my best jw buddy got baptized in february of that year.

Well, I must be naive, but I thought they promoted the truth and were not scared of contraversy. I wrote to them years ago about the scripture about 'the Cushite changing his skin' and brought out that since the scripture was written by Jeremiah, who was from a priestly class and who also would be adverse to markings on the skin and plus Jeremiah later MENTIONS point blank skin markings...that the said scripture was talking about the markings on the skin of a Cushite. Since they all basically had the same skin color, the differences here would not be a Caucasian Jeremiah looking at a "Negroid" Cushite.

I thought it interesting that not long after that letter there was an Awake on the skin markings of Blacks, but no mention of the Jeremiah scripture.

Oh, yes, I also mentioned that the leopard can change his spots in the poetic sense. (Which Jews, including Jesus, frequently spoke) A panther is nothing but a leopard whose spots are obscure because the spots and the leopard are black. But notice, it is talking about the 'markings' of the leopard, not his whole covering (fur over skins technically) Just the markings. As so why would Jeremiah all of a sudden go out of context and now start talking about skin color? Not all of us see like American White Males. But Some power ridden American White Males want us to think that way. How many people have even questioned that racist view?

So, you may be right. There may be an underlying reason why they do not want the information promoted. Althought it is out there for all to view. Are all of the people in power of Jehovah's Witnesses White Males?

Oh, and by the way, the majority running away in droves because of the expose I believe would be Black. I have never heard so many Blacks with pre 1960 mentality than in this organization. And I live in the south and it is pretty bad down here. LOL

I saw the poem. Also, the Lemba thread is just asking has the Jehovah's Witnesses written about that news about the DNA. Just doing research. I was interested in their take on it. Since they have written other articles about DNA. They seem to be silent on this one.

But as far as your questions about being perplexed you will have to ask the scientists who say we all came from Africa. I think you may be confused because of how things are in modern times. Remember man has changed things quite a bit. If you go to a Pow Wow you will see Native Americans with blue eyes, blond hair, or with black skin and textured hair. And do we really think the original carib Indians looked like the residents of Puerto Rico today?

Remember there WAS no Middle East until the late 19th century. And there WAS no Suez Canal to cut off parts of Africa. The Atlantic Ocean was not called the Atlantic Ocean, but the Ethiopic Ocean. And all that area was considered Africa. Israel on down. To the Romans, it was the Eastern provence. But Egypt, Ethiopia, Aswan, Cyrene, Israel were all lumped together for conquest. Carthage, Syria, Phoenicia...all that.

Remember also, Judea was right next to Egypt. Very close. And they looked alike. Not like they do today as Muslims, but more like the Coptic. The Coptics did not mix with strangers as much as the Muslims. And because of that you can see the difference.

But that is modern comparisons. The ancient drawings, carvings and artwork, speak for themselves. I believe you said that you are not a Jehovah's Witness but are married to one. So you should know there is a whole world out there that is not available to people who are compelled not to venture out and see for themselves.

There is a wonderful place on the south side of Chicago in the University of Chicago called the Oriental Institute. Great place to visit and have your mind renewed.

Target, your mom was right about Jesus. Am I missing something. I grew up Jewish. I am an ethnic Jew and religious Jews did not celebrate Christmas. Today, though, I have to trip over trees and menorahs if I go to some synagogues! Oyeee.

But, your mom was right about Jesus....I think (help me somebody. )

You know what? Women can do most of those same things too thing and relish in it. So what KIND of man are we talking about here...or should I ask is this just one of those stereotypical send this or die emails?

Now, what you SHOULDa said was, "men don't have to buy something that goes on their legs and in the next 30 minutes buy another one because what they just bought is ruined with a run." *sigh* Of course, women are getting smart enough to not buy stockings anymore either. So, I guess women are saying, yeah, I guess you're right. It's so good being a man in those standards...we're gonna do it too.

Blacks in concentration camps

i know jehovahs witnesses have expressed various people who were in concentration camps.

i have never seen in print their acknowledgement of blacks being there.

although blacks, in their publications of being in the camps, mention jehovah's witnesses.

Yes, I think it is also strange that a very long article was in the magazine about the Black man turned White and yet I have researched 3 issues and came up with one. The issue of the DNA and the Lemba, the Blacks in Concentration camps. Well, actually 2 and the DNA thread lead me to a 3rd research which I found. Here it is.

The Bas relief is featured in a booklet called"A Book for all People". I have an enlarged photo and other bibleography if interested in me putting it online. I am also looking for any Watchtower articles that mention Blacks in the concentration camps of Europe.

Invisible Woman: Growing Up Black in Germany

It's about a girl growing up Black in Germany. Her experiences were similiar to Raymond's. I remember my greatgrandfather telling me about his boyhood as a Native American. That he was held down and his hair cut so many times that he just started shaving his hair. And till he died, he wore his hair style bald. One less form of torture.

Your comment is noted. But I am thinking about the 20/20 expose of racism. The undercover operation at a car dealership, jewelry store and apartment building.

Blacks AND Whites treated Blacks differently than Whites. Do you remember this? If not, it is a must see for people who think that Blacks are not 'dissed' for their skin color. I DO understand that each case is unique. But usually, IF, the person has some sort of long term relationship with the other person, we can say that it probably is not prejudice.

My best friend is of Irish decent. She feels no qualms about raking through the mud if she has a difference of opinion on race with me. And if we are in public, someone would think she hated me. But, I know better. She is strongly opinionated and has strong feelings. ...*sigh* I miss her

As for your observation on height. It may be a superiority complex in others rather than prejudice. Do you really think someone wants to cause you, "detriment and injury" because of your height? Or do you think THEY think they are better than you?
