Ever been to a "quick-build"?

" for anyone not that familiar with jw lingo, it is when everyone in the congregation gets together to raise a new kingdom hall in about a week, or a weekend.

kind of like the amish do when they have "barn raisings.

" lol.

Been to a half dozen or so myself...beat going out in service will say that..And it was good place to look for a sister..lol..sounds kinda perverted to any other group of people I bet..I put carpet in was always interesting..come to think about it there was always one person to step thru the cieling at everyone..

The hall I went to was a quick build..So of course all the sister were there ... Two of the sisters showed up at the QB wearing shorts ...You have never seen so many grown men freak out..I would have sworn they walked in buck naked with the way they were acting...The elders actually took them aside and asked them to go home and change into modest clothing so as not to stumble any brothers...I know your thinking they were pretty ,single and young sisters....no way these were older married sisters and the shorts were almost to there knees..All of us younger ones were laughing at this because we coulda cared less....

Judas Iscariot

was watching a deal on tv last night (discovery channel, history channel, can't remember)....and it reminded me of something i've always thought about.. was judas really a bad guy?

should he be condemned for doing something that had to be done?

i mean, after all, had he not "betrayed his master".....then jesus wouldn't have died, right?

I am kinda curiouse as to why it was so hard to find Jesus myself..I mean wasn't he preaching and having large crowds of people listening??And why would Judas have had to identify Jesus by kissing him??Wasnt Jesus known by the people??And since that was there way of greeting each other then couldn't that have just been Judas telling him "Ok Big J I did it now what dude?" or something like that ..

I have issues with the sacrifice thing too. why the hell didn't god just wipe the slate clean and be done with it.

Well nativenyr23 because Adam was perfect and there had to be another perfect sacrifice and that was Jesus..I mean come on now if he woulda just wiped it clean the bible wouldn't have been nearly as interesting and we wouldn't have Christmas or the memorial silly....

Was he realy a bad guy or did jesus give him an assignment..The apostles were loyal to him..so why would he turn on jesus..good it be that jesus gave him that assignment?..and Judas didn't know what the outcome would be?..Or maybe Judas did know what the outcome would be thats why he hung himself so that he would die with his king as a loyal servant?....hmmmmm

Double life....

at some point most all ex-jws lived a double life within the organization.

whatever happened to make each of us change our views toward the religion few went straight to the elders and spoke openly and candidly about their feelings.

we put on the act for a while before we stopped going or got caught in our evil deeds or thoughts and were removed.

Most of us here were jw's and we know well that when someone hasnt been to a meeting for a long time they were "marked". A jw in good standing would never associate closely with such a person.

IMHO I believe for some of us it is easier to be marked than disassociated or dfed..atleast we know our family will still associate with us and children if we have them...

Isnt a person much happier and healthier when they stand up and speak honestly about their feelings on such a matter?

You never know..I have not been attending for years for many reasons..alot of lil things that didn't make since to me..But it wasn't till the last 6 months that I sat down and look at it head on and discovered why I felt that way..so if i was approached before i would have been wishy washy and probably lied..

IMHO it is the same fear of man that kept us trapped in the organization to begin with that promotes the willingness to be dishonest-
A true fear of a loving god would never promote such a willingness to be dishonest.

You seem to over look for some people that still have the JW mentality or aren't sure of how they really feel they are not fearing man..there fearing GOD because he chise these men to shepard his flocks and if you go against them then you are against GOD..and we know

Well after seeing some of the garbage being pulled by the moderaters over there and the way BB is lording and preaching that isnt a big surprise...I still support what he does and thing its great and respect his work ( wanted to get that out real quick before the yelling started..

IMHO thats is a descion ya should take time to consider for yourself..What works for others may not work for you..I see your point I was raised JW and if my parents had divorced and one left the truth I would have probably not have spent time with them..I have seen that happen to several people from the congregation I am from...Then the kids see the Org for what it is when there adults...and make up with the other parent...But it was hard on the kids and the Dfed one..and living far away as u said they will be brainwashed against you ..I would do whatever it takes to keep my children in touch even if it meant letting the elders believe I was just spiritually weak... But that is IMHO..Good luck in whatever you decide to do

My folks live in the Denton area..hr north of charlotte...they finally got power back friday evening..They said alot of roads are still closed becuase of fallen trees...

Did you listen to the dialogue in John Q?....he didnt have major medical insurance because HIS EMPLOYER changed the policy and he didn't know..Not the US Health system..The problems in the health system deal mostly with Ins company's..We have some of the best medical care in the world and we also practice prventive medicine where alot of country's do not..

What I see as absurd is the people like in John Q who need surgery and cant get it...This is from the same hospitals that bring people in from other countrys to do surgery's for nothing eating the cost...and then our on citizens need help...well do a fund raiser..That is not the US goverment its the corporations..

This kind of "logic" absolutely sucks to the world outside of America. We just don't buy it.

Funny thing is other country's dont mind calling on the US when there being picked on or they need help.We provide billions in aid all over the world...Seems that if we have so much money invested we should be able to protect our investments makes good business since to me..

back2dafront..Never been to Texas...Whats not typical....ohhh u must be speaking about the way he talks..I am from the south most all of us talk like that w/o the texas drawl of course..His view however that were not putting up with Saddam or terrorism...well thats pretty much the way everyone I have spoke to feels about it...

I mean wake up...as yeru said there has been a way out for along time they have been breaking the rules for a while now..the scientist tell the inspecters the truth lol...then the 100% vote to reelect Saddam must be real then..Iraq viaolated the resolution the first day by firing on coalition planes...

Well as you see it may not be the way it is..when it comes to welfare there are alot of people on it that would include immigrants from these other countrys.This system is greatly abused by everyone.And we should be taken care of ourselves what makes u think that the goverment should be taken care of everyone? There are poor in every country thats a fact there always will be.There are jobs out there for everyone just sometimes people dont wanna swallow there pride to do them..

Lets see some of them great swedish articles about all these civilians were killing everynight..Propaganda is part of War..And we will hear all kinds of it..every time we dropped a bomb during Desert Storm it was supposedly according to Iraq on civilian sites..We know that as what it is propaganda..Always thought it funny how the signs were in english at these sights..Ya think they added them afterwards so we could read it? hmmmmmmm

No typical Texan....he is Typical american....We are at War on Terrorism our country was attacked and any one harboring terrorist or aiding them are our enemy..Iraq is a threat to not only us but other countrys..We are just the biggest dog on the block so we bark the loudest and bite the hardest..

Your article ya posted may have some truthes to it..and then again maybe its just War Propaganda..Bill Clinton doesnt hold to much weight with me he was a coward anyway..would have been kinda double standard for him to send our country to war when he fled from it when younger ...

Maybe I am just a stupid Good'ol Boy from the south and am just dumb as mud . So can you explain what you mean by

Bush & Blair should be the ones to be assassinated if anyone must be, they are far more evil and twisted than Saddam is. However murder is wrong, I just think they should be relieved of their power and money and be forced to live on the other side then see how they like being oppressed by so-called liberated western leaders.

All goverments hide things thats the nature of the beast..It is how they use it and what there leaders are capable of that makes things dangerouse..There oppressed due to there on faults they spend more time trying to kill everyone for not thinking the same than they do trying to make life better for themselves..
