The Searcher, I see it as an intentional branding method, targeting and luring people in from all angles. Scientologist play on this color in their branding as well. Ironically, the negative aspect listed in the keywords, fits both cults.

JW logo and symbolism
by Illuminated inthere's a recent thread regarding the jw indoctrination expressed on the net, particularly instagram.
from an outsider looking in, i noticed this when looking through jw instagram profiles.
it came off super cult-ish and robotic along with similar wording used as though everyone, male or female, is a stepford wife (watch the movie for those who haven't seen it).

I wanted to bring attention to JW's being against symbolism. Why do they have the corporate looking logos plastered all over the place? It's symbolism in itself, is it not? So why are they against symbolism that includes humans (other religions) yet not against symbolism such as a blue square with letters that's reminiscent of the corporate "worldly" world or Scientology?
Ironically, the square box shape of the logo is very much like it's members trapped inside a rigid box, unable to step outside of it due to the fears/phobias. Interesting note on the psychology of color, blue in this case:
"Dark blue: trust, dignity, intelligence, authority"
"This color is one of trust, honesty and loyalty. It is sincere, reserved and quiet, and doesn't like to make a fuss or draw attention. It hates confrontation, and likes to do things in its own way.
From a color psychology perspective, blue is reliable and responsible.
This color exhibits an inner security and confidence.
You can rely on it to take control and do the right thing in difficult times.
It has a need for order and direction in its life, including its living and work spaces."
"Negative keywords include: being rigid, deceitful and spiteful, depressed and sad, too passive, self-righteous, superstitious and emotionally unstable, too conservative and old-fashioned, predictable and weak, unforgiving, aloof and frigid. It can also indicate manipulation, unfaithfulness and being untrustworthy."

Vidot, actually he's been used in investigations before and I can assure you he's not schizophrenic haha.
As mentioned most humans only use a certain extent of our minds/senses. Imagine what people would think if you busted out of the trees with a lamp switching it on and off centuries ago.

They told me they couldn't speak to me because I was now "walking with God". This convinced me I was doing the right thing.
Craziest thing I've heard besides them being demon possessed lol. It's the furthest from the truth and not what most readers/mediums would say. They're normal people, average Joes, and like every other situation, you'll find the "normal ones" or the eccentric ones. You'll find legit ones, and con artists. A legit one will inform you they're not an all knowing Godly force, that they read your energy based on that moment in time, however there are many possibilities and nothing is set in stone. As for mediums/seeing/talking to spirits, this does occur. Another example, I use to live in a place that inhibited spirits. Everyone who lived there experienced it to one degree or another.
We all have intuitive abilities whether it's Clairvoyance/Clairsentience/Clairaudience, etc, etc. It's just a matter of what capacity are we tuned into it, and it can be developed overtime.
Humans only use a certain percentage of their mind and senses, and when we see someone a bit more tuned in, we automatically tie it in with fear as we don't understand it. Imagine what a group of people would think if you appeared out of the dark with a lamp turning it on and off centuries ago lol.

There is truth to certain aspects of astrology, and people who are mediums/clairvoyant (I'm not talking about crystal balls or "horoscopes"). I'm talking about the deeper aspects of astrology that go back throughout time. The full depth of astrology. Think of it this way, everything on this planet is connected to one another including the moon/sun. We need the sun and the moon to survive. Plants and animals need the sun/moon to grow and survive as well. Specific plants for instance, bloom during a certain time of the year and have specific characteristics compared to a flower that grows during a specific time of the year with the sun and the moon in certain phases/cycles.
How are humans any different when everything is connected? Place a horoscope to the side, which I haven't read in 15 years, if you study the deeper aspects of astrology, and observe humans, you'll start to notice the pattern, the confirmation.
As for mediums, etc, etc. There are the legit types, and then there are con artists. However a medium/clairvoyant, will tell you themselves that they aren't above you, they are simply more open to being guided by their senses/intuition. Personally, I've seen quite a few. One in particular, one of the sweetest old ladies I had met, would take a piece of paper, draw on it, and tell me what was going on in my life, past/present and future. She'd also describe people connected to me fully. She'd go in very specific details, no one would have known. I would take the predictions with a grain of salt. Yet, 95% of everything she stated, came about.
Was she God? Was a demon using her lol? No. Her senses were more open, she was simply more tuned in then most of us allow ourselves to be. I myself have dreams and many come about, they're either about people I know, or people I don't know, later meet and it's confirmed. Also, the name of the person who calls me appears in my mind before I answer it. I can also often feel people and know what they're going through whether or not I've spoken to them recently or if it's been months.
Another thing, I have a friend in his 40's who has seen spirits since he was a child up until now. It's not something he's asked for, it's just been the norm to him. Mediums are also used by detectives in some cases of murders, etc, etc.
Explore, play around. Keep a balance.

Touching on what LisaRose stated, it sounds like you may be dealing with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) as well, which many ex-members of mind control cults deal with. It can come in cycles throughout the years until you heal fully, whether on your own or through the guidance of a professional therapist.
The peace we seek is already within us. It's a matter of connecting with ourselves and building the foundation starting from within and extending out. Not, outside extending in. It's a lesson for most of us to learn, some don't and then go on through life reaching outward, pulling things in to feel better until that job, partner, home, religion, drug or alcohol choice collapses and we hit rock bottom coming to this realization.

What Convinced you to Leave?
by LaurenM ini've been posting here a lot, but these last few weeks have been very difficult for me.
anyways, lately, i've been thinking about confessing everything i've done to the elders and going back, but deep down, i don't really think it's the truth...so my question is, what convinced you it wasn't the truth and that leaving wasn't a horrible decision that everyone in the truth makes it out to be?

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. Those elders you confess to may very well be pedophiles themselves, or most likely covering up the crime of a pedophile. Have you watched the Australian Royal Commission, or read up on the massive pedophilia problems and how the elders keep it from the members and carry on as though everything is fine? They aren't just stories, I have indirect experience with it.
Would you really want anyone, especially those type of people having power over you? If you do end up in it again, you'll most likely end up leaving again. Read a book called "Combatting Cult Mind Control" by Steve Hassan. You'll find yourself relating to every page.

Royal Commission taking our emails to heart
by wannaexit induring the proceedings of australian royal commission, as many of you, i also took time to share with the office of mr stewart, my thoughts and perspective on what what being said and not said by the witness elders on the stand.
within a day a received a reply from office of angus stewart thanking and appreciating the insight from those on the "inside".
yesterday i received a further email that my correspondence was passed on to case study 29 (jehovah's witnesses) team for their consideration.. it sounds like they are taking all our collective experience and knowledge into account as the commission continues its work..

Yes, I'm a nonJW with a cult victim loved one who was sexually abused. I'm not in Austrilia.

Before knowing much about the cult, my first thought was how suppressed the collective feel of the people/room (kingdom hall) felt. It literally felt like something heavy was weighing it down. The experience was very shallow, fake, rigid, controlled in every aspect without anything free flowing, and boring to the point where I caught myself tuning out.
As for the material they presented along with the magazines, major red flags went off. The writings gave an air of manipulation, talking down on you as though you're stupid, along with a tone of control. It reminded me of abusive personalities right away. I bailed not too long after.
