so, in june, i will be officially done with my schooling.
i realized today that i will not graduate this semester because i needed 2 more art classes to fullfill my studio art minor.
well i immediately signed up for two "boot camp" classes in the summer, mtwthf classes from morning till afternoon...for a full month!
I agree with the others who suggest considering working toward your Masters. I went back to school as an old fart and it was very difficult. It would have been much easier to continue schooling while my brain was still in study mode.
I'm not sure my degrees help me to get jobs but I know that they add to my credibility when dealing with clients, business owners and politicians....and besides I love having stuff to hang on my office wall. LOL

i've been on this site now for a little while and think its brilliant and its been a tonic in getting things straight and for gathering research.

in fact its difficult to get work done during the day because of reading posts on here.. a couple of months ago if someone wouldve asked me whether i was apostate i would have flatly refused partly because the indoctrination still has its effect even after a decade and the negative connotation attached to the word 'apostate' is still at the back of my mind.
I certainly consider myself to still be a person of faith, believer in God...BUT I most certainly turn my back on the WTBTS ORG....
I am proud to say that "I am no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses" and consider myself an Aposte to that organization..
I guess I would call myself an OBNOXIOUS APOSTATE -- LOL
I wear the shirts and pins, have my "No Truth in the Watchtower" coffee mug, bumper stickers on the cars....and make it a point to call attention to the dubs when I see them....sort of like JAVA....go out of my way to make them feel uncomfortable and maybe make them or others on the outside think a little. Raise as many questions as I can about the org....in the bright light of the public eye.
the other day i was on a site....looking for a certian news clip i had seen where an older news guy get's mad at the news anchor that replaced him on air...anyway a hit came up reading old news anchor and i downloaded it.
after it was done downloading i started playing it.
this guy's handing out things to certain people he calls by name at a press conference.
Being in Law Enforcement for so many years after I left you get exposed to some pretty troubling and disgusting stuff. To keep ourselves sane we try to joke it off with black humor that to anyone outside the Police/Fire/EMS family would seem TOTALLY innappropriate, heartless and cold. It is just a way to separate ourselves from the tragedy.
I volunteered for several years on the State Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team....we would travel to the scene of a traumatic event and try to help the local public safety workers cope with the emotions and stress that naturally occur after something terrible happens. Outsiders and even family sometimes just can't understand the feelings that occur so our team of their peers would try to help.

My mainstay drink is COFFEE.....working in Law Enforcement it used to be 3 POTS a day...thats 36 cups.....now it is maybe 1 pot a day.
Soda: Coke, Bargs, Sprite, Dr Pepper
Adult Beverages: Vodka Collins, Vodka Ting (a jamaican "slush" type drink), Sambuca shots
Beer: Samual Adams, Red Stripe
Wine: Chardonay -- "Old Fart" and "Fat Bastard" out of california, Turning Leaf, Yellow Tail
Lots of ICE COLD water.....
i have long thought that a billboard campaign might be effective in reaching many jw's, especially those without a computer.

cigarettes aren?t really my style, so i?m thinking a cigar.
Cohiba's are great if you can get the Cubans...the type that are legal in the USA are good but really not any better than many other brands that are easier to find and are more economical.
A nice mellow "regular smoke" is a Jamaican brand called Macanudo...lots of size choices....a good size is a park avenue but I smoke mostly robusto (short and fat) since it is more comfortable in my hand (you go with what you know I guess LOL) I prefer a CT leaf wrapper over a maduro but thats just me. The darker maduro wrapper cigars are a little more bitter to my taste buds.
I also like TeAmo cigars from Mexico and have 1 of my humidors full of a good mellow smoke that is a good conversation piece. They are called "Genuine Counterfit Cuban Cigars" and are made by a family that also grows in Cuba. Great cuban tax band on the cigar with a large red "Counterfit" stamp....good smoke and a few laughs.
When I started I bought a few Cigar Afficianado magazines and bought 1 each of their top rated brands and smoked them until I found the taste, size and brand that I liked.
