Community Service Opportunity in the US
by rwagoner infor those here on the board that are in the usa there is a group looking for community volunteers.. the us corps of chaplains is a christian organization that responds to disasters and emergencies to provide support to victims and responders.
they also provide services to active duty service members, families and veterans such as supporting families while their loved ones are serving abroad and assisting with military funerals when a military chaplain is not available.
you do not need to be in the ministry to be involved as response assistance comes in many forms.

The US Corps of Chaplains is a christian organization that responds to Disasters and Emergencies to provide support to victims and responders. They also provide services to Active duty service members, families and veterans such as supporting families while their loved ones are serving abroad and assisting with military funerals when a military chaplain is not available.
You do not need to be in the ministry to be involved as response assistance comes in many forms. You could be filling sand bags to prevent flooding, assisting a family displaced by a fire or helping responders cope with the horrible things that they see at the scenes of critical incidents.
The group is set up with a military rank structure so it might quench that desire to serve in a quasi-military service that you were not able to fulfill in the dubs. LOL There is a great satisfaction in helping friends and neighbors during a crisis and I thought of the many wonderful, caring people here on this board when I was asked if I knew others who might be interested.

New Light on Higher Education
by seeitallclearlynow inmy son made a point to tell me that they had what was to him a very interesting, different talk on the service meeting this week.
the presiding overseer gave a talk on the society's changed view of getting a college education.. he used the scripture which admonishes the reader to "acquire a heart of wisdom" and applied it to getting a 4 year college education for the sake of being able to support oneself at double the rate of pay with one's degree upon graduation.
this of course is only for the purpose of being able to then pioneer, only having to work a few days a week, thereby having the time for the field ministry.. such an annoying change - finally!

NOW they figure it out....it would have been soooo much easier to continue my education right out of high school rather than go back once I was an old fart. uugghh. LOL

Traditionally the groom goes first..and there is a reason for it but right off the top of my I cant recall what. Its the danged oldtimers...cant remember anything anymore LOL

My wife and I live an open relationship....have for many years.
I agree with Jeannie on one point and will expand on it a little to fit our unique situation....I don't mind if the wife converses, flirts..or whatever, as long as I sense that she is safe and consenting. If however I sense that she is feeling uncomfortable, harassed or confined....it is all over and there will probably be some clean up to do.
I am NOT a jealous person...at all....in fact I am more the voyeur type....but our lifestyle choice is also about fun...recreation. We have a deep emotional connection as a couple and when I feel that one of her "fans" is moving from "fun" to romance...THEN I feel the ocassional twinge. Not because I distrust her but because the guy has overstepped the "recreational" bounds.
For her part it is a bit different. In most cases she is very understanding of any attention that I might get/give to another woman but there have been two women who just plain turned her into a she-devil. I can't explain it...I have certainly been in more physical situations with other women than these two but she was fine with the others....but not these two particular women...and she cant explain why either. She simply HATED them right from the start. LOL

This is a SHOCKER!!!
by HadEnuf inwell my dear and trusted friends on this most esteemed forum...i would like you to meet my newest addition..."freedom frog".
he now graces my right arm and has been adopted into my family of frog tattoos.
(gizmo, on my left front leg above my ankle and flipper, another little frog above my right ankle, but to the side).

Question for other Parents....

i have a 6 yo son who is in the first grade.
he was born 10 weeks preemie, was an only child up until about 6 months ago and spends a lot of time with adults - especially me...his goofy but loving dad.
