I've worked in law enforcement since I "got out".....
don't have a lot of sympathy for law breakers.
those "kids" would be alive if they were in school or working an after school JOB.
i couldn't help but smile at the news last night.
here in san diego, 3 guys are being chased by the police while driving their stolen car.
the fog gets quite thick, so the police stop the chase, but then realize that the car they were chasing pulled over.

when people get desperate what do you expect?
desperate ? for what, a joyride ?
personal responsibility....steal a car...risk innocent lives in a high speed chase...run from the police...jump over a guardrail without checking if its a bridge.....pay the consequences.

since i have a little too much time up my sleave at present i thought id start a thread on a subject thats dear to my froggy heart.
for starters, here are a couple of links to on-line ecological footprint calculators that only take a couple of minutes to punch in basic data to get back a rough environmental impact assessment on how sustainable your lifestyle is.
sustainability requires decent and equitable living within the means of nature.
wooooo hoooooo !
No worries on the award...I'll just drive the old SUV an hour or so to my favorite Steakhouse and treat myself. Never can finish more than half of it but its damn good. Supposed to be cold tonight so I better jack the oil furnace up before we leave, I'll get those storm windows on one of these days. Well..time to drag the trash to the curb...all the cans, bottles and newspapers take a few trips.
Thanks again.

How to address difficult issues by taking the conversation on a meandering trek from one topic to the next while never actually getting to the point at hand all the while smiling and nodding like a bobble head doll to give the impression that you actually care about the other person and are not daydreaming about your next cocktail or opportunity to steal some private time with little sister notlegalyet.

today's sunday, claremont, nh eagle times has an interesting article on jws - inspired in part by a quick build kingdom hall going up this weekend in rockingham, vt.. here's the link: eagle times article october 23, 2005. i thought the article was good, but may have gone a bit easy on the witnesses.
no mention of witness shunning, the dateline expose, silentlambs, the blood issue, witness beliefs, etc.
also a bit confusing is the assertion of the tremendous growth rate at the same time that the article states that baptisms have dropped off 33% in the us since the mid-90s (holy shit!
Another local voice here...I'll drop the paper an email tonight to add to the cause.
