i have been wondering, .

before, while in the borg, many of us were under intense indoctrination of ideas like; "live for god", "look to the new system were everything will be perfect.." .

--not in those very words but you know what i mean... .

I live for feeling my partner's hand in mine when I go to sleep at night.

I live for watching my nieces and nephew grow into the spectacular people the each are.

I live for my two dogs, even when they ravage the garbage, and steal the butter off the table.

And I live for me, because each day I am taking one more day back that was stolen by the WTS, and years of sexual abuse.

Anyone ever been hypnotized?

has anyone on this forum used hypnosis in an effort to lose weight or quit smoking?

if you have any experiences, please share.

I was hypnotized about 2 years ago. It was for a charity, and all in fun. APPARENTLY, I stood up and sang "The Oscar Mayer Wiener Song", and skipped around the place being Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Vaguely remember the skipping part. Very embarrassing moment of my life.

There was a skit on MAD TV a few weeks back on this.

Old Lady(talking to fat boy suing McD's): I hope you get Judge Judy...she tells it like it is. Yes, she does. And she'd say, "You are what you eat, and Honey, you've been supersized!"

It was really funny, but I guess you had to have seen it.

Movie that could describe your experience as a jw?

personnally, i thing that the movie "the matrix" and the movie "the truman show" really describe my experience in the wbts.

when i discovered the truth about the "truth", my perception of the reality became really different.

all that i have been taught was just a big lie.

when you were an active jehovah witness, did you live a double life?

were you a spirtual person at the hall, and in the service, and then a completely different person when no one was around to watch you?

maybe you knew such people?

My friends and I did at one point lead double lives. But, after a little while, the guilt got the best of us, and we became quite zealous. Full believers, with our "weak" times very much behind us.

One of them left the org, I believe. Moved away, and started modeling and dating a "worldly" guy. Two of them got baptized, but as far as I know, still leading "double lives". I only talk to one of them, but the fact that we are still friends, and she knows that I am a lesbian, proves that she is not a "true" believer.

That "double life" shit. Made for some very fun times, but way too much baggage.
