  death at the 'memorial'

  i just got the news from our former congregation in hollister, ca regarding a tragic event following the 'memorial' wednesday night.

  we shared the kh with 2 spanish congos.. a couple from the spanish congregation were leaving the kh so that the next spanish congo could have their 'memorial'.

  they exited the parking lot in their car when hit by an oncoming car right in front of the kh.

  An elderly one from my dads congo, died the morning of the memorial. Very sad...😩.

  It's so awkward that people have to touch the emblems

  it's just so weird to me.

  for a group that is against idolatry so much and yet each person has to "touch" the bread and wine.. one lady was standing and holding a baby.

  she called the server over just so she could put her thumb on the bread and wine.. did jesus ever clarify what he wanted them to do in remembrance of him?

  My mother has nervous breakdown because we missed the memorial.

  my parents insisted that i'd take them to the memorial.

  my cousin said he'd come too and another brother who doesn't have a car begged to join.

  i was dreading having to go through exactly the same thing again.

  One thing i dont do to my elderly pops....is say im going to do something for him.....and not do it. Sorry, but ya shoulda told em no from the get go.

  Status update and hello.

  i haven't posted here in a few months and to be honest i haven't been lurking either.

  i hope everyone is doing well.😊 i wanted to take a minute to let you know how things have been the last few months.. recently the brothers decided to finally consider my letter of resignation.

  they met with me alone and i let them know why i have become inactive as a publisher and why i no longer wish to serve as an elder in the congregation.

  Darkknight.....im so sorry for what you have been through. I cannot fathom losing a child, and to lose two is just heartbreaking. Please do not let the cult dictate what you do to grieve, and go at your own pace, and do what you feel best. My heart goes out to your wife too. The only happy ending to this is waking up , and walking out. Stay strong friend.

  it's the forum's 16th birthday today!.

  amazing that not only have we lasted so long but we're still thriving and growing.. thanks to all the people and often colorful characters who've contributed to the site over the years.

  some are still here with us, some have since moved on, but all have touched each others lives in some way along our different journeys.. .
