Exactly BU2B. I'm sure I have mental/emotional problems from all this. I go back and forth from anger to regret to calling myself names for not being more proactive about getting out. Sometimes i lay there at night telling myself how f*ed up I am. Then beat myself up mentally for beating myself up mentally. Last night I woke up in a rage over nothing and just layed there at 3:00am listening to Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" album to calm me down. Still didn't sleep good, but I calmed down.

CO visit
by thedog1 init's the co visit in our hall this week.
last night he gave a talk about all the changes that have taken place in the last few years, like the change in the book study arrangement and the changes in public forms of witnessing, the rise and importance of jw.org.
he then emphasised what our reaction to these should be.

Need advice for asking a girl out
by DuvanMuvan inwell long story short, i've been meaning to ask this girl at school out for a while but i can never do it because her friends are always there in the way and i would prefer to ask her in person.
we've liked each other for a while (i was oblivious until about a month or two ago) and i'm also i bit worried she'll get tired of waiting.. i was just wondering if anyone had any advice or something that they could give me.

If all else fails, offer to show her your aquarium. I hear that's a hit with worldly girls. If you don't have an aquarium, don't worry. She'll get the idea.

This org is making your wife ill.
It's making all of us ill that still attend, whether we are oblivious and pushing forward or awakened and attending only for family's sake. I've never been more depressed and just overall disheartened than having to deal with knowing the truth about the WTBTS and our beliefs.

Um, wow, no; that looked like a student film by an obsessed Japanese fan of vintage David Lynch.
I was actually thinking of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tentacle_erotica
Haha. My bad. Tentacle erotica.... hmmm. The Japanese always were creative.
You have to admit, mine was pretty weird, engrossing, and almost....just almost....weirdly erotic with the strange tentacle blood sucking penis thing at the end.

I agree with CrazyGuy. But take it a step further.....own the situation. If you know she likes you and you like her, then you have nothing to worry about. Get her number. Call her. Don't worry about the girly giggles. If you can't handle that, you need to mature a bit. But please don't waste time avoiding her because of girly giggles. I did that too much when I was young and had a lot of regrets growing up....still do. Good luck.

I've never seen this scripture quoted in the WT
by UnConfused in1 cor 10:27. if an unbeliever invites you and you want to go, eat whatever is set before you, making no inquiry on account of your conscience.. .
.
i suppose that would mean it's ok to go eat with unbelievers?.

We also have this article from way back in the 1960 Wt, Jan 1st featuring a full quote of the scripture :
"17 Paul knew that Christians were ‘to keep themselves from things sacrificed to idols’ (Acts 15:29); but he explained to the Corinthians: “Everything that is sold in a meat market keep eating, making no inquiry on account of your conscience, for ‘the earth belongs to Jehovah, and so does its fullness.’ If anyone of the unbelievers invites you and you wish to go, proceed to eat everything that is set before you, making no inquiry on account of your conscience. But if anyone should say to you: ‘This is something offered to a god,’ do not eat on account of the one that disclosed it and on account of conscience. ‘Conscience,’ I say, not yours, but that of the other person. For why should it be that my freedom is judged by another person’s conscience? If I am partaking with thanks, why am I to be spoken of abusively over that for which I give thanks?” (1 Cor. 10:25-30) It may have been that the meat sold in the meat markets had been offered to idols, but how would a person know? He might not have inquired whether the animal, or even the part of it that he bought, was offered to an idol. So, Paul says, if a person invites you to dinner, eat what he has. Paul knew “that an idol is nothing in the world and that there is no God but one.” (1 Cor. 8:4) But, if someone eating with you says, “This is something offered to a god,” then because of that man’s conscience do not eat any of it. Because of your own conscience? No, but because of the conscience of the other person. You may stumble that one by your eating."

I'm not picky, but my preference is any top-shelf cognac, bourbon, whiskey, or scotch - chilled and neat. I have a thing for Gentleman Jack, American Honey, and Crown Black. My motto is top-shelf is for drinking neat, lower shelves are for mixing.

You should feel blessed pursuing a career as a DF'd public school teacher, because having lived the nightmare, you have special insight into the situation that any JW children you face may teach. You can use this insight to show special care and consideration to their needs. They still pass out the Education brochure. You can either accept it or not. When I was in school, I had plenty of teachers tell me that they already had a copy from a previous JW. This was not uncommon in my school. Just enjoy the fact that you are now free, and that you are privy to knowledge to which 99% of the other teachers won't have a clue. This knowledge will enable you to tailor your encouragement and support to these ones in a way that other teachers will not be able to.
