Mandrakes, what are they?

remember the ones found by dan and purchased from leah by rachel?.

now i don't remember seeing any indepth explanation of what mandrakes are in the wt.

Is it worth making a JW Talk profile?

i have looked at the jw talk forums every now and again.

is it any use making a profile to get in?

mainly just to laugh at the pathetic discussion that they carry on with.

Well where else could you find some pearls of wisdom like this little gem:
1 DAY TO JEHOVAH IS 1000 YEARS TO US
6 DAYS AGO: Adam and Eve appeared on the scene and sinned...and Jehovah made immediate plans to fix the situation.
39 HOURS AND 45 MINUTES LATER: Jehovah prevented the demons from returning to their original position and the flood took place, cleansing the earth...fresh start for humans.
10 HOURS LATER: The covenant was made with Abraham promising the ransom. The next day, the law covenant outlined the details of the ransom and plans were made for the ransom to be paid.
ONE DAY, ONE HOUR AND 48 MINUTES LATER: The ransom was paid.
TWO HOURS AND 15 MINUTES AGO: Jesus was enthroned and cleansed the heavens and finalized the Kingdom arrangement....
SO, IT WILL ALL BE OVER IN JUST A FEW MINUTES!!
A "few minutes"? That could be another couple hundred years of very soon!

If I was still "in" and giving talks, I would've stolen this. Ha ha. Good stuff!

Getting ready to visit the San Diego area......Any suggestions?

my son is getting ready to move to hawaii.

we are driving from indianapolis to san diego next week so that they can ship his car from the west coast and save about a thousand dollars versus shipping it from here.

i am only going to be there for a few days, thursday through sunday and would like some suggestions of what to do while i'm there.

lol. I watch too much South Park. I've always wanted to visit there, but haven't had a chance. So no real suggestions except watch the South Park episode on Jackin' It before you go to San Diego.

Deconstructing Splanes 'Generation' explanation

at around 4 minutes into the september 2015 video splane said "for the man and the baby to be part of josephs generation they would have had to have lived at least some time during joseph's lifespan.".

this is the lynchpin of the wt argument, that two lives must overlap to be considered the same generation.. let's take an example of twins who are born just a few minutes apart.

obviously, these twins are the same generation as each other.

My COBE reached out to me today saying that he needs to talk to me as soon as we can. I'm assuming because of this, and this was the subject of our last conversation together. I'm sure he thinks he's going to bring me new information to reactivate me. I just watched it for the first time and can say I'm not impressed. The whole time I was thinking there's a big difference between being part of a generation and living during a generation. My grandma who grew up in the 1920s lived during my generation, but she definitely was not a part of it. Her generation had a completely different mindset than we do now. While I loved her dearly and welcomed her in my life, we were two completely separate generations of people.

the elders promised that we would talk about everything that was bothering me, yet, we ended up talking about less than 10% of it.

Anybody have any "REAL" experiences of spirit/demon activity? I'll explain.

i know there is a lot of people on here that will say it is pure make believe but i am interested if anybody has had any real concrete things happen such as something moving or something appearing in the mirror etc.. anything just post it up here even if it wasn't much.

please give a little context as to the situation..

I used to be a believer because I personally knew people who claimed to have had such experiences. But after growing up and dealing with these people a bit more, I now realize that they are mentally unstable. I remember as a kid calling out to Jehovah for anything, and then getting pissed and calling out the Satan and his demons. I've even done it in a graveyard. But nothing. Looking back on that, and the addition of knowledge about TTATT, I stopped believing.

i have not been in a position to watch all of the interviews, so i'm sure that i missed a few things.

here is my question.

were either elders or ministerial servants accused of sexually abusing children, or were the accused just lowly r&f publishers or bible studies?

Which of the bazillion PDFs were those numbers in? I'd like to print it off to show my wife. We just started discussing this some last night. She seemed to think that it was mostly the rank and file, but I didn't have any evidence to back up my thoughts, so I just said I'm sure there were appointed brothers too, but didn't really know. The circuit overseer being on the list is crazy too.

Well..... I've never wanted to come out as a woman, but it is a powerful story. I think we can all relate to this to a degree, especially when dealing with the fear of losing those we love for coming out about our beliefs that differ from those of other JWs and the consequences of vocalizing our discontent. I wish I could be as courageous as her (still feels weird saying her though, lol).
