I pioneered with the most insane fear of dogs ever. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs that I know, but in England, especially on the Council estates, the houses all have gates to the front, garden paths that felt like you were walking the plank, and open sides to the back garden. I used to mutter to myself "no courage without fear" over and over whilst literally falling apart. On bad days I just used to knock on the gate. Every door I approached I would stamp my feet and cough like I was dying, so that any lurking dog taking a pee in the back garden wouldn't suddenly appear with bared teeth. Posting the invites through the letter box involved a 12" ruler and the Bible Teach book. One sister pushed her fingers through the box along with an invite and ended up in A&E. At the meetings for field service I would freak out inwardly as the slips were passed out - I knew the really bad dog territory. Not one of the bros took my phobia seriously - one Elder used to "kindly" open the latch on the gate and push me through first. I used to get bad feelings about certain houses and would say, "sorry, I can't go to that house". Did NOT go down well, lack of trust in God he must have thought. In England, the Posties have just had to issue a warning about dangerous dogs. It is a REAL problem, but the owners of such dangerous dogs are the ones to blame, and they purposely let out the dogs to roam when the jws are on the street. So glad this torture is behind me. I realise the truth of "SOME being given as Evangelisers". Its a miracle I don't have an ulcer. I can say that if I had been attacked like that woman I would NEVER have gone house-to-house again and stuff the Elders.

What the heck is a Godhead?
by Rattigan350 ini was listening to the radio, a religous show.. the speaker started talking about how the holy spirit is the third person of the godhead.. they just assume that everyone understands what a godhead is, and it is a manmade term.
that is what makes their point of view so ridiculous.. is it like a godfoot, godear, god elbow?.
they have their scriptures to link the holy spirit with the trinity, and jws have their scriptures to unlink it, and never they two shall meet.. .

When Jesus said, "You want to kill me because I said I am God's son", to THE JEWS, whose culture regarded someones son as equal to their Father, THEY KNEW HE WAS CLAIMING TO BE YHWH and were outraged. Again, exegesis is EVERYTHING in bible reading! The wt lied about the unique nature of God using subtle omissions in their Trinity brochure. Scholars are outraged. No wonder the Society have withdrawn it. Arius instituted the "Jesus is a created being and therefore not God theory". The bible teaches all three are fully divine. Period. In fact its full of it.The Council of Nicaea debated Arius and his hangers-on in the 4th Century. Arius' theory was discredited. The "Trinity" was NOT 'formed' at Nicaea. Greek "In the beginning the Word WAS" of John 1:1 is past aorist tense, meaning there was NEVER a time when the Word was not with the Father.We have only a sense of time and not eternity. Phill 2:6 "Though EQUAL to God" (Greek ISOS - "exactly the same"). "He has been given THE NAME above every name (Greek is YHWH). Oh there is just loads of this sort of stuff. It is so easy to want an active force possessing God who has a Son etc., who you can "fit into your pocket".

TERRY: Hi, Wish I could say I thought it up. Was said by a Professor on Youtube discrediting TOTALLY the jw translation. I've just finished another How to Read the Bible book. In the section "The Basic Tool: a Good Translation",the authors will not even include it in a comprehensive list of them, stating "it is theologically biased, an extremely literal translation filled with the heretical doctrines of this cult". And,"One can usually recognise the cults, for example, because they have an authority in addition to the Bible. But not all of them do; and in every case they bend the truth by the way they select texts from the bible itself. Every imaginable HERESY or practice, from the Arianism (denying Christs Deity) of the Jehovah's Witnesses.......claims to be "supported" by a text." UGGHH!! I HATE those responsible for knowingly and blatantly nurturing our former "faith" on what another expert calls "the most anti-Christian piece of literature on the planet".

He said to Nicodemus, "You must be born of the Spirit (or from "above") to see the Kingdom of God". - Such a person is 're-born' and is now a ""new creation". "The wages of sin IS death." The word "pays" is an heretical wt/NWT addition to fit their" mass resurrection of your (non-jw) dead loved ones" doctrine.

Ding answered this question. YHWH ("our God is One") appears in the bible as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. But NOT in the NWT, I keep repeating this point. All clear references have been tampered with. Not a version but a PERversion.

Yadda Yadda! Hi there. We were made in God's" image" (love) and likeness (body, soul and spirit). Thats why (a bit petty here from me - sos!) we debate like we do on this forum - why wer'e like we are, with dreams and aspirations and goals and aims etc. etc. no matter whether we believe in Him or not.

Oh - gulp! So sorry. Its going to take some time.....I still cannot think about our Cavalier, Beau (who died in 2009) without getting so upset. Did anyone follow Winston the Cavalier on Youtube? I was the first poster when he passed - it was like losing a little friend. It'll be really tough the next couple of weeks, but we are thinking of you. Love G.x.

Oculos:Hi! Its devastating when you realise our "faith" was based on lies and deceit - a real house of sand and twigs. My story resonates a lot with yours, regular pioneer for 6 years - the last 6 months as a "woken up " member of the conscious class. The most miserable 6 months ever. I just always got the point that the wt were misrepresenting God - and when we left, scared of the future, I couldn't pray as I had been used to. I just told Him "I am so anxious I feel physically sick, but I know I cannot step into the KH on Sunday. I believe you are being mis-represented". Just tell Him you can't pray at the moment, just that. (He knows already, but its like having to jump off a ledge into some-one's arms who you can't see - that rescuer is desperate for you to jump). His love and unending goodness to you will kick in immediately. (Could tell you amazing things here, but they would invite a lil' bit of scorn on the part ofsome - methinks!). Are you still reading the NWT? If so, pack it away for the time being and get ANY other translation and read it with a Bible Commentary - cover to cover, you will be amazed at the things we never knew as jws. Take your time, you are in 'healing'. Just a word of comfort from Psalm 18 in the New Living Translation: v27 and 28: ""you (God) rescue the humble....you light a lamp for me, the LORD my God lights up my darkness...in your strength....and with my God I can scale any wall"...
