The life differences between a good christian and good athiest

let's compare a christian who goes to a non judgemental / non guilt trip church which focuses really on the gospels, jesus teachings on being non judgemental, anything out of love there is no law against, and they contribute to society.

then an athiest who if you put side by side w/ the above christian, you would not know any difference unless you asked their beliefs.

both are good people, who are able to lead lives doing what they want, enjoying their life, and trying to help their neighbors too.

Doesn't saying that Jesus is your saviour mean that he is saving your life, offering you everlasting life? In what way does he always look after you? Do you never get sick, never stub you toe, don't have car accidents, and never have a broken heart. Will you avoid cancer, and die peacefully at an old age? From what I can tell, the good and bad aspects of life affect Christians the same way as they affect atheists.

Saving my life and eternity - yes, a part of it. Another big part of it for me is I have someone to turn to when no one can help, a comforter when I am in distress and a source of strength etc etc etc etc. Being a Christian doesn't make me from anything bad things that happen to anyone else, doesn't make me a super human or sth like that. But when all those happen to me, I have an alternative to other human and myself and any other things else for help/consolation/encouragement/strength.

You were saying that the promise of afterlife is the ONLY ..... , that was what I beg to differ.

Not really. Afterlife is not my concern so far, yet. I decided to become a Christian because I was told Jesus is my saviour, He is my friend and He will always be with me and watch over me. I was 8 years old at the time. For 5 years after that I never went to any church, nor joined any congregation. I prayed, I read my Bible and all that I experienced convinced me that God is real. There is Holy Spirit at work. I am more concerned about the purpose of life, wisdom and there is someone to turn to when no one can help. And for me it works. Call me stupid or delusional but God is just so real and good. Disclaimer: My personal experience and belief.

Either atheists or Christian, both side cannot proof the non-existence of a deity or the God's existence by logically debate etc. I am for one that is not convinced about the theory evolution etc. I guess everyone has the right to believe what they choose to believe, just please stop ridiculing others if their belief is different than yours. I found that some atheists here are quite rude and hostile towards the believers.

I told him last time he called that none of them have any authority over me. I told him I don’t believe in god/ Jesus or the bible anymore.

It doesn't matter because the most important thing is............................. if you still believe in the organisation.

excellent material can be found within the reasoning book, page 328, para.2, 3. occasionally, i see posters make presumptuous comments like, "all you need is the bible", or, "i'm born-again, so there's no need for spiritual assistance from another christian", or,"i'm saved", or my favorite, "jesus talks to me directly.

" on one hand, i can't be overly critical of such ones because they do attempt to read and understand the bible on their own.

(acts 17:11) not to mention they're generally peaceable folks, just self-misguided when erroneously believing that they can go it alone.
