Music artists who have died, and those you missed the most.....
by ScoobySnax inok with the death of nina simone today at 70, i got to thinking about other great artists who have died.
many would say elvis, but he wouldn't feature if i had to pick just 3. mine would go something like this.
3. tammy wynette (stand by your man was a song that'll always remind me of my grandad who died 10 years ago, always makes me smile and remember him, and her collaboration with the klf circa 1992. justified and ancient.

Whats the best internet music file sharing thingy....?
by ScoobySnax inhave been using morpheus for a couple of years now, and hasn't been too bad at all, got about 400 tracks download.
since gettiing aol broadband, the diversity seems to have diminished a bit, either i'm on the wrong dsl provider or morpheus isn't as good as it used to be.
the one i was on previous (can't remember the name now) went totally pearshaped after it got served a writ for using copyrighted material.....anyway, know of any other good music file sharing sites?

I used to use songspy pretty frequently until it was shut down earlier this year. I have stayed away from p2p . I have heard mixed reviews about morpheus and kaaza. All of the programs install some sort of spyware and your still susceptible to viruses. Get a good antivirus.

Walking on eggshells.
by foreword inwhy is it that anyone who ventures on this site and tries to defend the watchtower is immediately shot down and flamed for being blind and unrealistic?.
and anyone who can come up with proof that the watchtower is evil gets applauded for finding these facts.. some have wandered onto this site trying to defend their faith, even if at the time they didn't know the truth about the truth, and have immediately been labeled as a troll and showed the door.
i've seen threads where these individuals have been treated like total idiots and insulted (to put it in a mild manner), yet nothing was done to reprehend the insulters.

If your a true JW why would you even be on a board run by apostates trying to defend your faith? Aren't we the very same people that your religion tells you to stay away from. I don't consider myself an apostate.

Hell no. At my judicial meeting, I simply refused to give them the answers to to the questions they were asking. Which kinda pissed them off. I didn't care at the time and I really don't care now. Its been awhile and I haven't heard from them. No phone calls or impromptu meetings. Could it be that they have forgotten me and said I am a lost cause? If they were to call to arrange to meet I would say I'm not interested or I'm all set.

How much money would it take for you to go out in service?
by unbeliever insay you had to go out in field service for 2 hours in your neighborhood and talk to your neighbors about jehovah.
what would somebody have to pay you to do this or would you not do it for any amount of money?
if i am going to humilate myself it better be worth my while.

I actually did not mind going out in service. What I did not like was going out when it was cold, rainy, or snowy. I hated wearing skirts and would preferred wearing pants.

I still read my bible.. Its kinda hard for me not to. I still remember seeing the text at columbia heights in black letters saying read god's word the bible daily. Certain verses still give me encouragement. Although I look at them differently now.

It is a day I will always remember. August 18, 1990. I was only 15 then but really had no idea of what I was getting myself into. I was really pressured by the elders months before to take my stand for Jehovah and to start going over my questions. Afterall all my friends my age were taking their stand, what was my problem? Why do the elders pressure the young ones so much in the congregation to get baptized when its truly clear they are not ready? The one thing that I remember so clearly is that my mother was truly proud of me. I have caused her much hurt and dissapointment since my disfellowshipping. I do find it ironic that the elder who baptized me that day is now gay and truly out of the closet and the borg
