Am I the only one here who actually listened to the information and took notes? Yeah it did get boring at times but I was trained to sit and listen and not let my mind wander.

What did you do to keep yourself amused at the KH?
by be wise inwhen i was very young about 12 or 13 my brother [he's mad, not much older] sometimes used to do a cheeky magic trick during the watchtower[god, this was the most boring of them all, i think].
he used to put his hands by his side and miraculously the books on his lap would rise all by themselves [yeah, you guessed it ...morning glory], well it made me laugh my head off.
i bet people could see my shoulders bouncing up and down from the back row.

Ever wonder why elders read from a piece of paper when DF'ing someone?
by Jourles in.
of course, the reason why they read from a slip of paper is to make sure they do not get caught in any legal difficulties..

Whats the best internet music file sharing thingy....?
by ScoobySnax inhave been using morpheus for a couple of years now, and hasn't been too bad at all, got about 400 tracks download.
since gettiing aol broadband, the diversity seems to have diminished a bit, either i'm on the wrong dsl provider or morpheus isn't as good as it used to be.
the one i was on previous (can't remember the name now) went totally pearshaped after it got served a writ for using copyrighted material.....anyway, know of any other good music file sharing sites?

BTW, if you try to steal electricity and you screw up, it can kill you. Now there is a motive not to steal electricity. I know how to handle electricity, and you won't get me tapping into the wires that are before my electrical meter. Not while they are live and can pump hundreds or thousands of amps through my heart. Only a few thousandths of a amp will kill you. And I am one of the few who could do it and live.
Damn that was funny skeptic

Witness Cruises
by undercover inanother post on another thread about a witness cruise got me to thinking about when the dubs would block whole sections of cabins on cruise ships and have "witness cruises".
i never went on one myself, but i knew a few that did.
i heard some pretty sordid stories.

When I was an active jw I used to go on jw cruises every two years with my friends. In fact an ex friend of mine who is a brother owns a travel agency arranges them each year. The last one I went on was with about 60 witnesses. It was actually a decent affair. I remembering us having our own specical gatherings on the ship and the fellowship was always nice. Quite a contrast to a ski trip that I attended in 95 to the poconos in PA with young people my age. NO adult chaperones, nothing but young people with raging hormones doing whatever they felt like. I remember brothers coming in and out our hotel room and hanging out with us lying on our beds with us still on them, brothers laying in between sisters legs, talking and laughing. Around that time the group TLC had a song out called red light special, in which some sisters and brothers(ms) were engaging in some real dirty dancing. One of my roomates never came back to our room for the night, god knows what she was doing. and with who. I also recall going to a witness party in someones suite in which there was a serious keg of beer in a bathtub in which jws that were clearly not of the legal drinking age got wasted and started fights. Despiste the madness most of us acted holier than though and attended the meeting on Sun. The brother that I got a ride with to the meeting(others roomates were still hungover) had two or three condoms laying under his seat. I got home that weekend and was in total shock of what I had seen people doing thinking how on earth are these people witnesses? Its kinda ironic now but I remember there being talks on the assembly about these type of gatherings. I do know of a few witnesses that were lated df'd months following that event.

I used to use songspy pretty frequently until it was shut down earlier this year. I have stayed away from p2p . I have heard mixed reviews about morpheus and kaaza. All of the programs install some sort of spyware and your still susceptible to viruses. Get a good antivirus.

Walking on eggshells.
by foreword inwhy is it that anyone who ventures on this site and tries to defend the watchtower is immediately shot down and flamed for being blind and unrealistic?.
and anyone who can come up with proof that the watchtower is evil gets applauded for finding these facts.. some have wandered onto this site trying to defend their faith, even if at the time they didn't know the truth about the truth, and have immediately been labeled as a troll and showed the door.
i've seen threads where these individuals have been treated like total idiots and insulted (to put it in a mild manner), yet nothing was done to reprehend the insulters.

If your a true JW why would you even be on a board run by apostates trying to defend your faith? Aren't we the very same people that your religion tells you to stay away from. I don't consider myself an apostate.
