Brummie has a valid point. Its not cool to dilebrately stir up trouble at someones wedding. Its their day, let them enjoy it.

Have You Spoken To Anyone Here From This Forum ?
by RAYZORBLADE inobviously the answer for many of you is, an overwhelming yes.
the reason i am posting this is, for some or perhaps many, they only post or im(instant message/e-mail) other members, but have not spoken to them via the phone.
i'm aware that for some, calling long distance is a financial concern, thus the e-mail thing/im works fine and serves its purpose.

I regular pioneered for four years while I was in college trying to get my degree. It started out as one of the most rewarding times in my life until everything kind of got mundane. I must admit I pushed myself too hard at times trying to keep that pioneer spirit and while continuing to have the whole souled devotion attitude. It just got to be too much for me, afterall I got a lot of slack from others that I was trying to attain higher education. I had way too many stresses in my life at that tiime. Its funny now in spite of all I have been through I really don't regret that part of my life. For what I have endured has made me a much stronger individual.

Most Annoying "Kingdom song?"
by doodle-v inwhat's a kingdom song you can remember singing that gives you the creeps now?
mine is "move ahead" i think that was the title, anyway it has so much rhetoric... but the tune is so darn catchy.... darn.... in my opinion, those songs are the perfect example of mind control.
move ahead.. move ahead ... blah blah blah blah blah .

Did you cheat on your monthly report?
by JH ini was always honest with my field service reports, until the time when an elder came over to give me hell because i had only 1 hour that month in the field service.
i told him that i was working 50 hours a week, had a 4 day district convention that month and couldn't do miracles that month.
he never accepted my explanation.. .

I only remember padding hours on my report once and that was when I was reg aux pioneering. I was smart to get the bulk of my hours very early in the month, but towards the end I got really sick with the flu and had like 3 or 4 hours to make up for. So I rounded up hours and came up with the magic total of 60.

Is There Anything in Life That You Truly Regretted?
by minimus inone thing that stands out for me is how i never went to my own grandmother's burial because, after all she was dead and during the day she died it was on a thursday night and i had 2 parts to handle so i performed them well and at the end gave the congregation, "a progress report" of how my grandmother had been doing since she was in the hospital, suffering from cancer.
that evening i told the congregation that she had died that afternoon.
many people cried at that point but later i was commended by many for not missing a meeting that evening.......

To this day I still regret that I did not see or talk to my father one more time before he died. I regret pushing myself to my limits when I was trying to be that model jw, because of my stupidity I was fast on the road to mental breakdown. I did get some therapy and for that I will always be grateful. Life is good

Did You Feel Bad About How YOU Treated Disfellowshipped Ones?
by minimus inbeing an elder, i could talk to df's ones to see how they're doing.
the wt.
tells the rank and file that those disfellowsipped are as "dead" in jehovah's eyes.

At the time No because I was being a model jw. Now I feel bad for those still in that situation who attend meetings.

Did you always turn in *all* your donation money?
by asleif_dufansdottir ini went out in service for the first time at about the same time the "donation arrangement" was put into effect.
i heard one or two brothers (when they were in 'safe' company) thinking out loud that if the money was really for the "world wide work"...that maybe it would be ok to use some of it, sometimes, to put gas in the car to go out in service (our congregation had some really poor people and our rurals covered 4 or 5 counties and hundreds of square miles).. i was wondering if anyone actually did that?
i wonder if pioneers who were used to getting a price break kept keeping a percentage??

Almost all the time, some times I would borrow the money and forget to put it back.

Courageous, and able to think for myself rather playing the game of following the leader. Its a breath of cold fresh air. I still believe their is a GOD afterall we didn't get here by chance. I just frown at organized religion

Does Everyone Leave For The Most Noble Of Reasons?
by Englishman in.
some of us left simply because we didn't believe it any more.. some us couldn't stand the hypocrisy.. some of us left so's to have more sex.
some of us saw another light shining brighter.. some of us wanted more material possessions.. some of us needed more control over others than the borg would allow.. what do you think?.
