Inserting words and/or deleting words from the Holy Bible is what happens when "a committee of dedicated men" (tm) and not linguistic experts or educated scholars are used to translate the God's word. Just saying!

1959 jehovah's witnesses in the divine purpose pg.
252. for many years it had been the view of the watchtower that the faithful men of old who served god faithfully before jesus' time would be raised from the dead even before armageddon to join in organizing jehovah's modern-day people and to share in shouldering the remnant'sresponsibility of representing the lord jesus christ in the capacity of overseers of the flock of god on earth.
these men were variously referred to as "ancient worthies," "faithful men of old," and "the princes" in the light of psalm 45:16. .

as i responded to an earlier post it occured to me that those of us who have been in the religion for any length of time are like harry houdini, the illusionist.. we willingly (for those that chose to really believe the lies) bound ourselves in chains.. we always had the opportunity to releaase ourselves...it was all an illusion...an illusion that we played along with.
but the option to end the mental confinement was always within our power.. going door to door we must have looked like a freak show to others.
we put ourselves in a glass cage in chains, as a "spectacle",...in which we were unwittingly frauds, because the whole time we could have gotton free.. that's all for now... .
As I look back now, the most regrettable and frightening part of fostering the illusion is that as a parent of 4 terriffic children, who are now parents themselves, I was responsible for them being JW's today. I indoctrinated them well as did my mother for her children. I offered them NO option--the JW way or the highway. In other words, I was a 'good' spiritual head in JWism. I'm serving up tidbits of ttatt to them now and hope they wil break the chains many decades before I saw the light!

special pleading is a form of fallacious argumentation and faulty logical reasoning.
it occurs when someone is exposed as wrong but rather than admit they were wrong they dream up some rather pathetic and weak excuse for why they are still correct.
one's pride is just too hurt to admit one is wrong.
They really screwed up with holding on to the "blood doctrine". It was concocted in the whacky minds of Rutherford and Franz. They can't abandon it now because of liability. So, now JW's can 'accept' blood fractions!
BUT, the WTBTS still needs to reconcile:
How can a JW accept blood fractions when only those who violate Jehovah's law regarding the sancitity of blood will donate the blood from which the fractions are derived?
in mexico there was a jw family of 8 killed with machetes it's very heartbreaking!
the problem i have is why does the wbats not make a mention of things like this in the yearbook!!!
they will tell you about how a brothers chickens didn't die and how jehovah must have blessed him... but if a whole family is killed where is the mention of jehovah now??????????????????????????????????????
I read of this gruesome event when it first broke a couple of weeks ago. At that time, I told my wife (a devout dubby) that something didn't smell right about this story. Stabbing people to death is personal. This was either a case of 'mistaken' identity, they were mixed up in some drug cartel, or they knew something about druggers. They were not murdered over a gambling debt of some dog breeding fee. Just saying.
And yea, where was Jehovah's merciful, saving hand? Was he too busy providing extra cash so poor pioneers could get to aconvention? Just saying!

i saw this on some exjw website where allegedly in regards to gj jwfacts said "he made the first dictionary for the language of tuvalu where he was a special pioneer and became favoured by the king of tuvalu who he would have meals with, so he does not seem to have an issue with mixing with politics... ".
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/scandals/175970/1/do-you-happen-to-know-any-of-the-7-newer-gb-members-what-are-they-like-any-hope-for-positive-changes.
this however doesn't make a lot of sense since tuvalu doesn't have a king, their monarch is elizabeth ii.
I wouldn't doubt that the WTBTS takes credit for 'dictionary' first. Didn't CT Russell invent motion pictures?

i haven't seen the 2014 yearbook on the jw site yet.
i'm looking to see if the number of partakers has increased again (as it has for many years now).
anyone have a scan of it yet?.
The number of partakers keeps increasing (as we get closer to the END) despite the FACT that the WTBTS 'promised' us that the opposite would happen. So, either:
1) the END is not getting closer,
2) the WTBTS was wrong (I know-not a chance), or
3) at the AGM in 2014 (100 year anniversary of something) the newest of all new light will 'identify' all other JW's who are now considered "domestics" worthy to partake.
Praise Jah for the FDS!

because if you just read it then its plain that all should partake of the emblems and go to heaven etc.
they get around that by saying it only applied to those when written who all anointed and then a small group today.
so they take away the bible for the average witness.
I've noticed over the 50+ years I was a JW that JW's really only know about 75-80 scriptures from the Bible. These 75-80 scriptures are used in their literature and at meetings and in FS about 80% of the time. JW's use these 75-80 as 'proof texts' to prove THEIR beliefs. And, of course, these 75-80 scriptures are usually taken out of context or give a 'figurative','symbolic', or 'prophetic' meaning depending on the circumstances. Just recycle it and say it over and over and it becomes TRUTH.

nelson mandela has passed on.
he was a symbol of hope and peace to many.
has his life and achievements meant anything personal to members of jwn?.
If only Nelson would have been on the GB when released from prison. Instead we got Rutherford.
