I have often asked my wife why the org. so vehemently discourages 'higher education' except when they need professional help, engineers, lawyers, doctors, etc. LOL!

11/30/2014 WT Study - take care of those who are all used up.
by OneEyedJoe inwas bored during today's indoctrination lesson, and you guys weren't generating enough content to keep me entertained, so i looked agreed at next week's a bit.
basically the point of the hour lesson is that once the society has completely used someone up, they're to be dumped on next of kin (or anyone who'll take 'em) to take care of 'em.
obviously the wts can't dip into any of the millions/billions that they're sitting on to pay for the support of ailing missionaries - they've got that money earmarked for new cult compounds and paying off victims of the pedophiles that they've protected over the years.. just another in a recent string of articles paying lip service to taking care of those that have given their life to the cult while they do absolutely nothing from their ivory towers.

Have you ever wondered why the WTBTS loves to quote the book of the Bible book of JAMES about 'faith without works is dead' , but rarely mention the James 1:27, "The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation..............."
Does the WTBTS have an'orphan and widow fund"? No! so is their worship clean and undefiled from God's standpoint? No!

What provisions does the WTBTS have to help, aid, assist, or in other words, "to look out for" widows or orphans?

Yes I have found it quite interesting that very recently the Mormon church has been cleaning out their closet of their past misdeeds due to the internet.
BUTT!
Mormons are 'false religion'. JW's on the other hand will never have to apologize for their past because they have the "troof."
Both Mormons and JW's are products of 19th century fanatics who thought they had a direct pipeline to god. LOL!

im even seeing memes posted all over instagram from jw mocking it.. here is my question, why are the things written so different from how the gb members, like anthony morris are?
i know the gb dont actually write the stuff but i was under the impression that they come up with the spiritual light pass if off to the writing committee and they put it in the publications.

US Zone visit: disappointing, depressing, discouraging
by sir82 ini will have plenty of "snark" to post later on, but please indulge me while i get this out of my system..... suppose you are the leaders...yes, the leaders...there are only 7 of you...for the one true religion in all the universe.. jehovah the god of the whole universe speaks to you, you alone, out of 7 billion+ people on teh planet.. you have an opportunity, thanks to the advancements in technology, to speak to 750,000 of your followers "live", and another 750,000 or so within 24 hours.. 1.5 million people!

this is the first time in history you can simultaneously, or nearly simultaneously, address so many of your adherents.. what message are you going to present for this special occasion?.

Super JW's must have been really disappointed. It was an empty cup meeting again. No substance. Sammy spent his time scolding the bethel drones for being late and Tony (did you notice his mullet haircut?) spent his time spewing his opinion on tight pants, spanx, and colorful socks. To me, it was just another ho hum, your dumb waste of time. God where do they get this stuff from?

"Jehovah's spirit is being blocked in the congregation"
by stuckinarut2 inso, how many times have we heard this expression (or a variation of it):.
"jehovah's spirit seems to be blocked here in the congregation...perhaps he is bringing something to light...etc".
it seems that the org often uses this expression, and links it with the "fact" that god wont bless a cong as much,(or at all) if there is "stuff" or "sins" being carried out.. so, why is it then that the cong i am in is experiencing its best years of activity in all aspects?

Hey notsurewheretogo,
I was an elder for nearly 25 years always sort of KNOWING that the religion that my mother chose for us was not the troof. Being raised in the religion, I just became absorbed in it through osmosis!
My wife was unfaithful to me on several occasions during our 45 years of marriage (still married to her). As I look back now, I don't really blame her for looking for some excitement and/or escape from the drudgery of being a JW elder's wife. Our life was all work for the borg and very little fun with our family. The troof was more important to me that my marriage/wife and I gave "it" a lot more time and attention.
When I finally, 100 percent realized and fully accepted TTATT, I decided to have a little "fun" myself. I had an affair with a fellow employee for several years, smoked cigars, gambled a bit, used bad language, watched "R" rated movies all while serving as an elder. Our congregation, at least according to our CO and other elders, absolutely flourished. LOL! I was a very popular and influencial elder in our congregation and circuit. Since I confessed (on my own), got removed (not df'ed) the congregation has gone down hill somewhat from a statistical viewpoint. WHAT!
So much for holy spirit exposing wrongdoing in the congregation. Sadly, I really went stupidly wild in my rebellion against the repression that I had volunteered for. (To my credit though, I never wore "tight pants".) Been out and inactive for over 4 years now. Still not df'ed just quietly fading into the the woodwork. I'm content with my life and even though my wife (she forgave me for my temporary insanity) is still in, she sees a much happier,more caring person who has time for his family and friends. I'm now a man living life (happily married for 48 years) without the restraints of the WTBTS.
